Coming a respectable second place is Canada’s Revmatic. The band is sticking around this week to answer any questions you may have for them.
2008 marks Revmatic’s third release “Cold Blooded Demon”. Described by singer Nathan Yetter as the sound of Guns N Roses and Metallica in a car accident, the album marks a new beginning. The band decided to go in a heavier direction on the new album. The last two albums we’re hard rock, this one is a little more Metal influenced. In the eight years since the band formed, they have molded themselves into an extremely fierce band, honing their sound into a state of lust‚ with melodic vocals, thunderous double kick drums and guitars that are defined with dual leads. Fans and press received Revmatic’s first release (Self Titled – 2002) and second release (Ghetto Blaster – 2004), with great response and the band sold over 1000 copies of each. Cold Blooded Demon is a powerful album musically and visually. The album art and design was done by Rory Fiorito who has worked with bands such as Diamond Head, Dokken, Ratt and Quiet Riot.

Hey guys! Congrats on the prize…I’m proud of yas. I have a question to kick off this interview! I’d like to know which guitar solo you would rank as the big Uno of all time. And Rob…who’s your all time favorite drummer?
Keep rockin the stages and keep me posted on future dates in Ottawa!
M.to-the-A.
Yes, congrats for sure.
If you had to bring back any dead guitarist in the history of music to have play one song with, who would it be?
And my favorite question: Name some major influences both on you as an artist and the band itself.
Do you all have one mutual vision of how your music should sound, or do each of you bring varying (or even conflicting) contributions to the sound?
Well M.to-the-A. My favorite guitar solo is actually all of the solo’s in metallica’s “orion”
of master of puppets, including cliff’s bass solo. Classic song off one of the best metal albums of all time!..thanx….hopps.
The answers to your question hstisgod is Stevie Ray Vaughan, I love his music as well as his sound, like his axe is crying man!
Well dscanland my influences are metallica, judas preist, iron maiden,Blue Oyster Cult, motorhead, really everything from the glory days of metal and the N.W.O.B.H.M. As for the band its about the same but with motley crue, kiss,Guns and Roses…The other guys can add to this, the list is long…LOL.
For SolitaryMan’s question we all bring something differen’t to the table, I for one am influenced big time from adrian smith of iron maiden and eric bloom of B.O.C so I have a habbit of writing long songs with many riffs, and I know that it get’s dull somtimes so I try to keep it simple. I’ll let the other guys add to this….thanx.
As for the direction part of the question…we all want are sound to be kick ass and in your face, and that’s real easy to agree on within our band.
Nate from REVMATIC here, as for my influences guitar wise, it would be Slash and Ace Frehley.
Hi Guys. Do you have faves of your own songs?
M to A, one of my Fav guitar solos has to be (believe or not) slash’s from sweet child of mine.
hstisgod,
If I had to bring back one legendary guitar player from the dead to play with…. It would be Jimi Hendrix, I would love to jam some shit with him!
dscanland,
As an artist I enjoyed Billy Sheehean, Randy Coven, Duff McKagen, Cliff Burton and even John Taylor from Duran Duran to name a few, great Bass players, as a band, definately Guns and Roses, Metallica, Megadeth, Kiss, … I tend to gain my influence from new bands and old… it is hard to name them all
SolitaryMan,
I think we all bring our own “sound” to this band, our vision, our ideas and motivation keeps us going and the ways we create songs together is exciting and well…keeps this band thriving for more…
metal4,
As for faves of our own songs…Everything I wrote! LOL!! Actually, from our first album, I like Ilene, Seems to Me, Two Feet Away and Wait for it now, from our second album, All by yourself, you never really know, Falling, From Me… and everything in our latest album…. for now… LOL
Me as well I enjoy the whole new album, it’s awsome to play live/ As well as all by yourself, you never really now and house of sin.
Any new bands today that you guys are digging? Recommendations of some music we may not be familiar with.
Its a three parter….If you could play a benefit show, what other acts would you invite so you could say you shared the stage. What cause would it benefit, and where would you have the concert? Anywhere in the world… where?
dscanland,
The new bands today that i’m digging are Papa Roach (who I just saw last night here in Kingston) and Avenged Sevenfold.
metal4,
Favorite songs of ours to play off the new album would be Head My Way, She’s A Drug and Bad Behavior.
hstisgod,
not sure what the benefit show would be for because there is to many reasons to choose from, but it would be some where in Brazil because they have the biggest crowds, and the bill would be KISS, Metallica, GnR, Crue, Avenged Sevenfold, Papa Roach and REVMATIC.
-Nathan
KISS_this… I think what Dscanland meant was indie or unsigned acts you enjoy locally
dscanland,
Well one new band that I’ve been listening to hard core is a canadian band called “WARMACHINE” and they are one great band, we shared the stage with them in toronto at jeff healey’s bar and they were great, and good guy’s as well. You need to check them out!
hstisgod,
honestly I would say any benefit show because it would be helping someone somewhere, it’s hard to choose when there are so many good cause’s and so many peaple in some sort of need so if it helped someone in any way or need it’s cool. And we get to do it by doing what we love and that’s playing our music! And it would be iron maiden, judas priest, metallica, genesis (with phil collins and vocals of course) and REVMATIC! and it would be anywhere in europe or at wembley.
I’ve got one more for you, what do you hope for Revmatic? Where do you see yourselves in 1 year, 5 years?
dscanland,
Well I hope we will be starting the writing process and talking about a new album within the next year. And in five years, well i hope we will be on every station, every music channel and every where you turn there’s nothing but REVMATIC!
We have alot in us and there’s alot more REVMATIC to come!
thanx for the questions and the support…hopps..REVMATIC.
