“Dog Problems” by The Format (RIP) – While the band is now defunct, this record lives on as one of my favorite records of all time. Even as a young and relatively obscure band, The Format managed to create a body of work in this record that was mature, developed, and intricate. No two songs sound the same yet somehow, there are threads that keep all of them sounding like they belong on the same record with one another. Truly an amazing album.
“Keep No Score” by Sleeping At Last – One of the most beautiful and epic collections of songs I’ve ever heard. The arrangements are haunting with an undeniable orchestral influence and the lyrics are nothing short of gorgeous.
“How To Call A Bluff” by My Favorite Highway – Amazing pop record that sounds more like a major label release than a self-funded independent release. It’s only a matter of time before this band is primed to make a major national push.
“Eyes To The Sun” by Sparks The Rescue – We had a chance to tour with these guys for a week and their show impressed us a lot. The vocal delivery is memorable and the songs will be stuck in your head for weeks.
“The Morning Light” by The Morning Light – Mellow but catchy indie-pop that is sure to put a smile on your face.
