The Japanese girl threesome known as Shonen Knife are back with a new album this year called Super Group. We wracked the brains of Naoko, the vocalist/guitarist of the band on her favorite indie albums. Here’s what she had to say:

1. Sebadoh – Bakesale: This album makes me relax.
2. The Raincoats – The Raincoats: I like the sound of violin.
3. Shins – Chutes too narrow: We played with them in Osaka.  Good people and nice music!
4. Pavement – Wowee Zowee: This is a fun album.
5. Teenage Fan Club – Songs from Northern Britain: Their attitude for the music is great.
