Flood of Red is a band that seems to be gaining traction with the forthcoming release of their new album, Leaving Everything Behind. If you act quick, you can pick up their new album as a download on their website for a measly $1. Check it out, I did!
Here’s what these Scotland boys recommend listening too:
The Ghost of a Thousand:
The best live band to come from the UK in a long time. These guys push us as far as our abilities will take us and force us to try better and harder every time we play with them. Really nice guys and they have written 2 of the best punk rock records we think the UK has ever seen.
Idlewild:
One of the best bands to ever come from Scotland if not the World. Every album they have created has blown us away, they always progress but still sound instantly recognizable as Idlewild. One of the most underrated bands in the world in our opinion. Everyone should own at least one Idlewild record.
The Graduate:
The Graduate are a great band that we’ve been listening to for a while. They also recorded with Brian Mcternan who recorded our debut record and he did an amazing job with them.
As far as we know these guys have had a tough time of it with record labels and the like but hopefully things are all sorted for them soon and they’ll be back in the UK soon anyone who likes great songs with beautiful musicianship should listen to The Graduate.
The Xcerts:
An amazing band hailing from Aberdeen and Exeter. Great friends of ours and absolutely fantastic musicians. An incredible live band with an uncanny skill for songwriting. One day everyone will know their name and their songs.
The Twilight Sad:
Another fantastic band from Scotland who are destined for big things. They have dark and extremely powerful songs which sound huge on record and even bigger live. Underrated but not for long we’re sure.
