Well it’s much appreciated, I just wasn’t sure if you were saying that favorites were an under used feature or that it somehow took away from the bands because they did not receive the fan favorites.

I don’t consider you pugilistic if you’re merely making an observation; we’re probably still just raw in the aftermath, and we can only aspire to create a following.We felt we took some during the comp, which everyone did, but for a second or two felt like we didn’t endear ourselves to the rest of the community for landing up that way.Rabbit ears, maybe? But thanks for the kind editorial, it’s deeply appreciated.

Well having many fans on music emissions helps only fuel Wedlock and every other artists fan recommendation value…That’s one of the greatest things about music emissions, IOTY voting is a head start to build a bigger fan list of your band so you can be on the front page with legendary indies like Radiohead or Fugazi, or whomever. It evens the field for all artists, large fan base or small. Not to be pugilistic, but seems to me with 300 votes, 20 or 30 fans wouldn’t be too hard to make the front page. Especially considering “add to favorites” is an under used feature for even top 40 rock bands on this site. Please don’t be confused Wedlock, I respect your musical style and writing. I do foresee a forever growing sound from you.

But what does that signify, exactly? I think it’s hard to be everything to everybody.I think as far as our fans were concerned they just saw we were trying for something. I imagine Wedlock will not ever be a fan favorite, but just keep on quietly making good music-some will enjoy and buy our records, others not so much.The key is to keep your fanbase happy large or small.

I enjoyed 15-20 bands tremendously, at least one song, if not their whole release…

I think my favorites are well documented, with my person top choice would have been Experience.Hold.

Congrats Fortune & Spirits, morph that Long Island pride into a (Dare I say it?) Kings Of Leon like progression… and maturation is at its heights for you guys. I really dig the diversity…

As for things that happened during the voting process, I kind of lost a large taste for IOTY. If there is another, I may participate differently in the future. Time for new thoughts of a new brain. It’s a lot to work out, so if anyone is interested, drop me a comment or an email

Most of all indie music and consumption of it’s music grew, if just a little more with IOTY09. Congrats to all those who respect each other and will help book each other abroad. Keep music new!

Congratulations Fortune and Spirits!!! and all other bands and performers who entered. There was a lot of music here that could of placed in the top, and I discovered many new sounds while listening through over the last few months. Thank you Music Emissions for the putting on the contest. Performers and musicians always appreciate an opportunity to be heard.
