Their debut album, “Anxious Little Turtles” will be released June 21st 2011 Formed in Santa Monica, California in 2009, For now, here’s Meekos & Me with “Animals In My Room”.
Neur – is an indie band out of New Brunswick, NJ….Very much a gritty sound, and even Post/Core at times, here is Neur off their untitled EP with “Gold Thimble”
There’s something unique about Matt Solberg of St. Louis, Mo. His style of finger-picking is gorgeous and although not made for Pop, he minces with it well. Here is Matthew Solberg off of his 2011 self-titled release…. this is “Petrified”
The Broken Orchestra – In December of 2010, The Broken Orchestra, from the U.K. released a two track single. Off that two track single here is
“Over and Over (featuring Natalie Gardiner)”
Gees Extortion is a rapper from Brooklyn, NY….While the lyricism is a bit less than I’ll usually enjoy the flow and beat are too much not to pass on. A guy to keep an ear out for… From Real Radio Records, here is Gees Extortion with Mic Bust

That was a song called Perigee by Be The Ant. Coming to us from the Denver Colorado area. They are sort of genre gymnasts, so be sure to check them out
Vains Of Jenna
Los Angeles Natives, Vains Of Jenna sent an entire release of cover songs The release they call “Reverse Tripped” is a collection of tracks covered from Neil Young to Pink Floyd, Mountain’s “Mississippi Queen”, Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue” and even Elton John’s Yellow Brick Road off the album Reverse Tripped, here is Vains of Jenna with a cover of 60′s British pop, The Zombies …here is “She’s Not There”
Rose of Jericho is a blend of rock based out of San Antonio, TX. Of their latest release Out of the maze, here is “Midnight Eyes”
Still awaiting a full length the Penny Blacks are a Canadian 7 piece with a catchy feel. Here is the Penny Blacks off their second EP release Gold Standards with “Socorro”
Hailing from Dover Delaware, Flatline Symphony have a sort of Armor For Sleep or Pierce The Veil feel… Though I’m personally don’t enjoy the vocal performance, I can still respect it as well as the phenomenal accompanying instrumentation – Off their release, “This Is What They Call Surgery”, here is Flatline Symphony “Remedial Plagiarism”

That about does it for me, I’d like to thank all the artists that submitted for this podcast, and if you didn’t make it onto this podcast, don’t fret, as we’ll be doing more of these in the coming months and years. With that being said, I’ll leave you with a second helping who I believe to be the best talent on this podcast and that’s The Broken Orchestra…here’s “Shibui” see ya next time…

Great Podcast Brian. Besides Penny Blacks, I don’t think I’ve heard of any of these bands. Not really a track on here that I didn’t enjoy. Thanks and looking forward to the next one.
Nice mash-up of unknowns for me. Here’s my “review” if you will. ;-)
Meekos& Me: Not for me, but I can feel the California influenced melodies.
Neur: Really appreciated this one. Nice post core with a slight side of pop/punk influence there.
Mathew S: Not for me, but I can def appreciate the solid finger work on the git-fiddle.
Broken O: Couldn’t get into it… fast forward.
Gees: Great production, enjoyed the beasts, but he needs a mentor and some better lyrics.
Be the Ant: LOVED IT! sweet harmonies, with a whole big band meets arena rock meets beck meets ringling bros circus. LOVED IT!
Vains of Jenna: Decent cover of a classic. Well done.
Rose of Jericho: Great fem vocals, a bit on the simple side for me, but overall, worth the listen.
Penny Blacks: Nope… sorry… I’m not feeling it… decent guitarist, poor production and a lil too pitchy at times on the vocals.
Flatline Symphony: meh… im with you on the vocals… u cant sing a whole song through a filter and get me on board.
Broken O: Give’n em a second chance… I like the smooth horns and the fan sticks on the snare… but that’s about it. Just can’t get on the train man…
Thank you for puttin’ this one together man. I will def be adding some Neur and Be the Ant to my playlist. ;-)
