SignMeTo is the indie/unsigned platform created by Roadrunner Records. What SMT does, is allow any unsigned act to upload music to their page and let the charts (users) have their say. Here’s some questions that you indie artists may have already …
Does Roadrunner own the rights to the demos uploaded?
No, but once you upload your recordings onto the site, you are giving Roadrunner permission to make your music accessible to anyone on the Internet, with no payments due to you at all.
Will a Roadrunner A&R Scout listen to my band?
It’s possible. The charts and rating system we have devised place the bands that get the most complete profile/plays/ratings/reviews/picks at the top of the various trees. That is where our A&R people will go first when searching the website for talent. But like everything, we DO NOT guarantee that your music will be listened to by one of our people.
Can I promote my band on another band’s profile?
No, you cannot. Any such comments will be deleted when found or reported.
If the abuse is egregious, your account may be suspended or deleted. This will negate any work you’ve put into it. Reviews sections on band profiles are for just that: reviews. We strive for real content, not links to other band profiles or thoughtlessly-supportive comments from fans. This is obviously a continuous struggle for us, so we rely upon the community to let us know about abuses.
