Hey everyone we are live at Fun Fun Fun Fest 2011 in Austin! Day 1 is flying by really fast, so far we have seen 4 shows in a row: Fat Tony (hip hop from Houston), Mind Spiders (punk from Dallas/Ft. Worth), Cloud Nothings, and Black Milk (hip hop from Detroit). We weren’t planning on, nor did we previously know anything about, Auto Body from Austin. We only caught their last song, but wow what a performance! The duo are similar to Death From Above 1979, but less rock and more electronic/dance. That is one of the best things about festivals, as much research and planning as you do, you never know who you might see! Speaking of who you might see, we saw Blake Anderson, aka Uncle Blazer from the Comedy Central show Workaholics hanging out backstage! So far today, the best performances have probably been Fat Tony or Black Milk and Mind Spiders. Auto Body has had the best crowd reaction up to this point, that we have seen.
As far as interviews, so far this weekend we have confirmed interviews with Fat Tony, Cannibal Corpse, Architecture In Helsinki, and We Were Promised Jetpacks. Of course we hope to get more, keep your fingers crossed. Make you you check us out on both Twitter and Facebook to keep up with everything as it happens. Tonight we plan (hopefully) to see Okkervil River, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Public Enemy, and Passion Pit!
