Breakout electro inspired hip-hop duo Chiddy Bang, comprised of rapper Chiddy and producer Xaphoon Jones, releases their much buzzed about debut album Breakfast exclusively on the iTunes Store today (iTunes.com/ChiddyBang) and nationally with all retail and digital outlets on February 28th. Additionally, Chiddy Bang’s song “Handclaps & Guitars” will be this week’s FREE iTunes “Single of the Week,” starting today.

The album, which venerable music magazine Spin declared as “one of the most anticipated debuts” and which Alternative Press has already praised for being “filled with Cap’n Crunch-y nuggets of pure, sweet, mainstream hip-pop” was written over the course of the last year while extensively touring throughout the US, Europe and as far as Australia.

Surrounding the release date, Chiddy Bang will make multiple national television appearances with performances of their hit single “Ray Charles” on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on February 24th, Conan on February 27th and The Wendy Williams Show on March 1st. “Ray Charles”, the first single off Breakfast and recently performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, is rapidly climbing the Top 40 and Rhythm radio charts. With rave reviews from Billboard and one of USA Today’s Playlist picks and strong radio support in major markets including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Denver, the single is poised to continue it’s ascent through the release of the album.  The video http://vevo.ly/syE4bK which is in rotation on MTV2, mtvU, Fuse and Teen Nick, has racked up over 2 million views on VEVO since it’s January 6th premiere.

In conjunction with the release of Breakfast, Chiddy Bang has linked up with software developer Smule and their MadPad sound mixing application. Smule’s MadPad app turns everyday sights and sounds into the ultimate percussive instrument.  Remixers can play thousands of premade sets or make their own video soundboard in just minutes.  Chiddy Bang have created a number of their own MadPad video sets, one of which they remixed to their single “Ray Charles.”  A video featuring the band both recording and performing the MadPad version of “Ray Charles” can be seen exclusively on Chiddy Bang’s and Smule’s YouTube channels. Users can play with Chiddy Bang’s sets by downloading MadPad, which is free this week in the iTunes App store.

Known for their dedication to touring and energetic live shows, which included memorable performances at Bamboozle, Bonnaroo, Virgin Festival and Austin City Limits in 2011, Chiddy Bang will have several album release shows starting February 22nd with stops in Los Angeles, DC, Philadelphia and New York City.
