We are so lucky, getting a chance to share great new music with people all over the world. We are working with 35 Denton for the first time, a music fest in it’s 4th year. Since 2009, the fest has been growing, and also sharing great new music with people. The first year had 124 bands and over 4,000 fans. Past artists have included The Flaming Lips, Big Boi, Neon Indian, Portugal. The Man, Health, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Dr. Dog, Sarah Jaffe, The Walkmen, and The Black Angels. This year, once again, they have a great line-up planned the week before SXSW. Highlights include Best Coast, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Bun B, Peaking Lights, Danny Brown, Devin The Dude, Mountain Goats, Built To Spill, Dum Dum Girls, Gardens & Villas, Atlas Sound, and tons more!
One of the bands that I am most excited about seeing are Thee Oh Sees from San Francisco. They play brand new, psychedelic throwback music. They have a reputation for putting out a ton of material, and for staging incredible, lively performances. This is my favorite video by them. It’s co-directed by Ada Bligaard Soby and Brian Lee Hughes, with cinematography by Ada Bligaard Soby, produced by Brian Lee Hughes of Public Production LLC, and edited by Jacinto Astiazaran.
