The 14th annual Coachella fest took a dare this year: instead of just one massive weekend of music, why not add an identical weekend a week later? Their risk paid off, and the fest sold out fast than ever before. And how could it not? The line up (partial), too long to list here, already includes some of the most popular artists today: The Black Keys, The Shins, Bon Iver, At The Drive-In, Radiohead, Miike Snow, M83, Explosion In The Sky, A$AP Rocky, Florene+The Machine, and way more.
Getting ready to kick off the first weekend this week, the interwebz lighted up with buzz today with this breaking news: joining Sunday night headliners Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will be Eminem, Warren G, Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, and Daz Dillinger. Details are still somewhat sketchy so far, but Rolling Stone was among the first to report it.
In related news, Kendrick Lamar recently released a song called “The Recipe” with Dr. Dre, from his upcoming summer release Good Kid in a Mad City. In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, K. Dot said that he has recorded 30 songs with Dr. Dre, including one with Snoop Dogg from the mega anticipated and long overdue Detox. That record is still presumed to be released this year.
