Denver-based band The Lumineers plays live tonight on TBS’ Conan. The band will be performing their popular single “Ho Hey” from their recently released self-titled debut album. The performance is the band’s second late-night television appearance following an appearance on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.
Since then, the band sold out 26/30 shows on the initial album release tour and will join Brandi Carlile and Old Crow Medicine on upcoming dates (see below). The Lumineers has remained in the top 100 Billboard Albums Chart for four straight weeks after landing at #43 on April 3rd. Word of the band’s album and incredible live shows have spread like wildfire; the Los Angeles Times hailed the band’s “roots rock delivered with Arcade Fire-like grandeur,” Paste Magazine gushed that “there’s an instant connection here similar to that sonic euphoria many people upon hearing their first roaring Mumford song, favorite Dylan lyric, or perfect Head and the Heart harmony,” and NPR’s World Café sung praises as well, calling The Lumineers “raw and reflective music, which not only calls to mind folk contemporaries such as The Avett Brothers and Blitzen Trapper, but also accounts for its members’ experiences with personal tragedy.” Fans from coast to coast have been drawn in by the live Lumineers experience-a coming-together in musical solidarity against isolation, adversity, and despair.
The band recently did a special feature with Grammy.com, including a performance of the song “Classy Girls.” You can watch the video interview and performance here:
Here is their newest video for “Ho Hey”, directed by Ben Fee.
