Vancouver, BC quartet Yukon Blonde has announced a North American tour with The Jezabels in support of its sophomore LP, Tiger Talk, out now on Dine Alone (Tokyo Police Club, Neon Indian, City And Colour). Starting October 1 in San Diego, the month long tour sees the band through the Midwest and up and down the East Coast before concluding on October 31 in New Orleans. This tour is the band’s first official set of US dates behind Tiger Talk, an album Paste Magazine says has ‘unearthed an entirely new flavor for their evolving sound.’
Before releasing their new album, Yukon Blonde returned to SXSW this year, playing ten energized sets across the week. KCRW applauded their live show saying, “as soon as you hear a really good band [at SXSW]…your spirits are lifted and you’re reminded about why you are here in the first place.” Produced by Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Ladyhawk), Tiger Talk gives way to a raw, guitar-driven sound, as the band trimmed the fat and packed hooks and brisk tempos into streamlined arrangements. In an interview with Spinner, frontman Jeff Innes admits the album is the first accurate representation of how Yukon Blonde sounds in concert. “We’ve always been an energetic band live, and the new material just feels so natural to play on stage.” Tiger Talk follows the band’s Fire//Water EP released last fall. The EP’s lead single “Fire” was featured on an episode of ABC’s Revenge shortly after the the TV show How I Met Your Mother made a reference to the group.
“‘Tiger Talk’ should push [Yukon Blonde] into the US spotlight.” – Alternative Press
“highly inspired…If you want to hear a personality (we weren’t even sure at first if that was possible), you’ll get it with these indie rockers.” – Paste
“‘Tiger Talk’ is just the sort of record I’ve been searching for…the tight, upbeat tracks are cheerful, singable and a breath of fresh air.” – USA Today
