The 134th Canadian National Exhibition opened on Friday, August 17th, and runs until Labour Day. The CNE, as it’s known around Toronto, sees more than a million visitors pass through the Princes’ Gates annually. One of the biggest attractions has always been the free concerts at the historic Bandshell. 2012 should be no exception; among the homegrown acts I would recommend people check out are Big Sugar, Arkells with special guests The Darcys, and the recently reunited Tea Party. But there really is something for every musical taste, so go to TheEx.com for specific dates and a full list of performers. Stick with the rock and stay away from the all the fatty stuff at the Food Building, especially Bacon Nation! With your Music Emissions Minute, this has been the ROCKthusiast Gilles LeBlanc.
