Music Emissions is blooming in all avenues. Short and sweet, we need more reviewers as 2013 expects to be a breakout year. More pressing, we strongly encourage writers of any geographic location in the world with expertise in the following genres to participate.
What are the requirements
M.E. reviewers are expected to excel at OTJ (on the job) training. We have over 30 years of publishing experience to share, can you keep up?
-Love music and respect all styles of music
-Have time to contribute 2-3 days a week
-Have basic knowledge of web entry, Win7 and/or Mac OSX 10 or better
-Have basic knowledge of grammar and AP style
-Have a computer and internet connection
-Have a microphone or smart phone
-Paypal account
-Sense for up and coming new bands
-Passive understanding that mainstream is not the only stream
Meet these requirements? Then you are an elgible user of the 2012 Music Emissions User Review Contest.
What are the stakes?
Beginning November 1st and open till November 30th, 2012, all users who post user reviews will be judged primarily on the following:
-Quality of reviews (grammar, typos)
-Frequency of reviews (how often per day, week)
-Choice of reviews (indie or mainstream)
What do I get?
The top three user reviewers will be selected by a group of trusted staff writers and will receive:
-Promotion to Staff Writer level
-$10 signing bonus
What is the benefit of being a music reviewer?
Music Emissions reviewers have gone on to do great things, such as contribute at large publishers, create their own music related websites and while you’re here, receive…
-Free Music
-Free Concert Access
-Money (Reviewers currently receive anywhere between $1-$10 per assignment, dependent on the content)
-Access to interview artists
Baby Steps
Are you excited yet? First and foremost, sign up for an account…Secondly, “Like us”, “Follow Us” whatever…the best way to get started is to keep an eye on our content, and please, leave the Lady Gaga and Linkin Park at the door, we’re not interested. Good luck!
