Hopefully everyone is having a festive and joyous holiday season and maybe you’re as surprised as I am that this year has just flown by. Before taking the long journey back to the East Coast for the holidays, my last live show of 2012 was the last stop of the “How The Grouch Stole Christmas” tour in Los Angeles featuring Prof, Mistah F.A.B. and headliners, The Grouch and Eligh. As you might recall, if you read my review of Rock the Bells this summer, one of the highlights of the entire festival was this Living Legends duo performing with Zion I on Day Two. Originally repping the Bay and LA with contrasting flows, The Grouch and Eligh kicked the day off properly and left a lasting impression on me.
Fast forward to El Rey Theatre on December 18th; “twas the week before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring. Not even a mouse”. Actually, several people in the diverse young crowd were stirring in the packed house (drinks, that is). Before this Christmas party started, I luckily got a chance to connect with The Grouch at soundcheck. Listen to us chat below about the Living Legends crew, he working with Raphael Saadiq and his plans for 2013 with Eligh!
Peep The Grouch and Eligh playing at Red Rocks in CO with Macklemore, Ryan Lewis and Major Lazer in February and at the Paid Dues Festival playing at the NOS Event Center in San Bernadino, CA with Black Hippy, Immortal Technique and more in March 2013!
