2013 is shaping up to be a year of epic live pairings for IO ECHO. The LA industrial-tinged duo of Ioanna Gika and Leopold Ross just wrapped up a string of dates with indie powerhouses Bloc Party and are now gearing up to hit the road once more, this time with iconic 90s alt outfit Garbage. The tour will traverse Eastern US and Canada throughout March and April, kicking off in New York at Terminal 5. Already having amassed the adoration of major industry names, IO ECHO were hand picked by Trent Reznor to open for Nine Inch Nails at the band’s last ever tour show and opened for No Doubt in Los Angeles last November. They also created a soundtrack for indie film guru Harmony Korine last year.

IO ECHO will be touring in support of and in conjunction with their upcoming debut LP Ministry of Love out via IAMSOUND on April 2. The twosome’s incomparable sound that draws from early 90s industrial, hazy pop and Eastern Classical orchestration (Japanese Koto and Chinese violin) has garnered accolades from NPR, Interview, Bullett, Nylon, Stereogum, Dazed & Confused, Paper, I-D, Dummy and more.

They’ve succeeded in doing something that so many bands have tried, but failed to do: invent a completely new sound. – NYLON

“A fantastic new discovery – NPR

It’s kind of like, if Niki & The Dove just went hammer on the guitars, kicking up a dusty swirl of sound. All that’s left to do is to just ride the wave.” – STEREOGUM
