Screw what any groundhog or meterologist says – Spring is here, and with it comes Canadian Music Week, the country’s biggest music-related event.
CMW 2013 comprises six full days of speaking engagements, industry award shows, artist workshops, experiential marketing opportunities, and oh yeah, bands, bands, and more bands! Well over 1,000 of them are showcasing in 60 venues throughout Toronto from Tuesday, March 19th until 4 in the morning on Sunday, March 24th. Like our neighbo(u)rs to the South (by Southwest), there are some big names performing like Rihanna, Coheed and Cambria, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, but the majority are indie, which just screams, “Music Discovery!” Gilles LeBlanc, AKA ROCKthusiast, is once again subjecting himself to CMW punishment so as to bring you the best coverage – Check back DAILY for his audio impressions of what’s going on around the city of Toronto for Canadian Music Week 2013!
