Artist Update: Kings of Leon

As we told you last week, Kings of Leon is slow rolling their info and songs leading up to the date of their new album “Mechanical Bull” on September 24. With the severe heat wave that’s been going on lately, there’s been no better time for a refreshing new song from them. “Supersoaker” has made an early splash on sunstricken listeners to say the least. Longtime KoL fans have remarked that it shares similarities with some wild riders from 2005’s Aha Shake Heartbreak, but with a professional sheen (much like Because of the Times) helped by producer Angelo Petraglia, who’s been with the boys for their last four studio efforts. After being in Europe for the past couple of months, Kings of Leon are back on North American shores on July 23rd for the Rock for Oklahoma benefit, as well as the Global Citizen Festival in New York’s Central Park in late-September.

Strip down to your skivvies and drench yourself with an audio-only YouTube of “Supersoaker”! What do you think? Excited for the new album?
