Festivals: Rocklahoma Sights, Sounds (Day Two)

Last week, Pryor, Oklahoma played host to the eighth annual Rocklahoma. Whether you made the trip or just stayed at home and barbecued for Memorial Day weekend, chances are you’re still recovering. Although some logistical problems immediately came into play over the weekend, such as check-in traffic and cell phone signal and the overwhelming choice of terrific bands, we were there to get in close for a look at most of the action. Here we go…

The Hard Rock stage was at it again. Gemini Syndrome (left) is garnering a lot of buzz lately. Discovered by John Cooper of Skillet, We As Human (right) kept the Hard Rock Stage going.

We finally caught Jackyl at Rocklahoma and they didn’t disappoint.

Twisted Sister not only showed they still got it, but was one of day two’s biggest highlight, with Dee Schneider displaying his usual outspoken self in between songs.

After Trivium had to bow out due to health reasons, fans were treated to supergroup We Are Harlot. Here is Danny Worsnop (right) formerly of Asking Alexandria on stage with We Are Harlot.

Texas Hippie Coalition at Rocklahoma 2014 by For the entire three day event, the Hard Rock Stage kept pace with the Main Stage and sometimes even upstaged it, such as when THC stepped up.

One could argue Staind at Rocklahoma was the headliner and while nearly everyone was singing along, an energy was missing from lead singer Aaron Lewis’ stage performance.


While our footage or interview slot didn’t pan out, Mine Enemies Fall played the AXiS stage and they should be monitored. Here’s a fan posted performance of them at Rocklahoma 2013


Also, keep Canadian rockers Killer Dwarfs in your thoughts, KD performed on two days and need to be in all hearts and minds.
