GRANDTHEFT RELEASES “HOLD ON”, ANNOUNCES QUIT THIS CITY EP ON MAD DECENT

Toronto producer Grandtheft has announced his debut EP, Quit This City, coming this Fall on Diplo’s Mad Decent and Pirates Blend (Canada). The 7-song project is his first cohesive body of work and blends elements of hip-hop, soul, dancehall and new wave with his dance music expertise. He sought out to create songs that you could listen to at home, on the road, or on the dance floor, living not only in his regular dance lane but also as artful music to listen to on your downtime. The EP explores his own creative boundaries and sets the tone for future Grandtheft releases to come.

Grandtheft has become one of music’s most in-demand producers over the past few years. His official remixes for Rihanna, Katy Perry, Calvin Harris, Iggy Azalea and more have become the standard that major pop artists look for when they want to cross over into dance world. He has established an eclectic and diverse sound throughout multiple genres, recognized for his ability to continuously adapt his sound and stray away from typical production trends.

DAVE KOZ’S COLLABORATIONS: 25th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION DEBUTS AT NO. 1 ON BILLBOARD’S CURRENT CONTEMPORARY JAZZ ALBUMS CHART

Lead Single “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” featuring Kenny Lattimore and Rick Braun is
Top 10 at Smooth A/C and Jazz Radio

Dave Koz’s Collaborations: 25th Anniversary Collection (Concord Records) debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Current Contemporary Jazz Albums chart, becoming the nine-time GRAMMY®-nominee’s eighth album to top the chart. The album, which is available now, shines a light on some of the saxophonist’s most memorable creative partnerships, drawing from Koz’s extensive catalog as well as other artists’ recording projects and including three brand new tracks.

The collection’s first single, “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher,” is one of the songs recorded especially for the collection. Rick Braun and Kenny Lattimore join Dave on the classic R&B track, which is already a Top 10 hit at Smooth A/C and Jazz radio.

“Kenny Lattimore’s vocals make this lyrical celebration just as electrifying and just as soulful as the original [Jackie] Wilson hit. But it is the tandem playing of Koz and Braun that takes this song into new dimensions,” said AXS.com.

As this spirited new video shows, their special chemistry is infectious. The video was shot during rehearsals for the trio’s summer tour, which will include a headline performance at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 23. “Good Foot,” which features keyboardist Jeff Lorber, who co-wrote the song with Dave, and Koz’s soaring instrumental version of “Let It Go” from the 2013 Disney film, Frozen, are the other new songs appearing on Collaborations: 25th Anniversary Collection. Previously released tracks feature Koz’s classic collaborations with Herb Alpert, Eric Benét, David Benoit, Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, Jonathan Butler, Brian Culbertson, Gloria Estefan, Heather Headley, Boney James, Toby Keith, Barry Manilow, Richard Marx, Johnny Mathis, Maysa, Michael McDonald, Marcus Miller, Keb’ Mo’, Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart, Summer Horns, Luther Vandross, BeBe Winans and Stevie Wonder.

“The saxophonist Dave Koz reigns not only as one of the most bankable stars of smooth jazz but also one of the most hospitable, a point hammered home on his new compilation album, ‘Collaborations: 25th-Anniversary Collection,'” noted The New York Times. “Whenever jazz saxophonist Dave Koz teams up with other musicians, the result is something unbelievably special,” said the Riverside Press Enterprise while Rage Monthly praised Koz as “extremely gifted.” AXS.com observed, “Dave Koz’s celebration of his extensive musical career is captured brilliantly on Collaborations: 25th Anniversary Collection.”
