Grace Potter

In case you missed it, the effervescent Grace Potter performed ‘Empty Heart’ off her newly released album Midnight yesterday on Conan! The singer/songwriter proves no stranger to onstage multitasking; effortlessly pairing sultry vocals with both guitar and piano.

GRAMMY-nominated, alternative rock band MUTEMATH are excited to debut their new single, “Monument,” worldwide TODAY via Beats 1. The song serves as the first release off of their highly anticipated new studio album, VITALS, setting the tone for the new direction the group is taking on this forthcoming release. Citing bands like Steely Dan and The Police as a source of inspiration, the result is a raw, electro-pop track with shimmering synth beats that will make you want to get up and groove.

“A monument usually signifies a memorialization for what is no more,” says lead vocalist and primary songwriter Paul Meany. “This song is about taking control of the moments we still have, while we still have them together. The threat of an ending is nothing to be afraid of, but something that can be turned into beauty and serve as a vibrant means to keep moving forward.”

VITALS will be released later this year in conjunction with a fall tour that is completely sold out. The series of dates kicks off on September 16th in Minneapolis and run through the fall (full routing below). Stay tuned for more exciting announcements in the coming weeks!

Upcoming Festival Dates
August 30th – San Marcos, TX – Float Fest
September 12th – Charlotte, NC – PNC Music Pavilion
September 13th – Raleigh, NC – Walnut Creek Amp

MONOGEM (aka Jen Hirsh) brings her sensual neon-soaked synthpop to The Weeknd’s “Earned It” in a new gorgeous cover of the single made popular by 50 Shades Of Grey. Premiered with Idolator, MONOGEM’s cover pumps up the haunting factor with her delicate yet commanding vocals and throbbing synths. The end result is truly stunning and quite romantic.

Be sure to catch MONOGEM in LA on September 1st for Tunesday’s acoustic music series at the Soho Mondrian.

Today, Peaches showcases her new video for ‘Close Up.’ In it, Peaches enters the brazen world of Mexican wrestling with her musical collaborator turned coach Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon. Peaches takes on a string of female wrestlers and Luchadores, including Cassandro and Dirty Sanchez. The outrageous video was filmed in Los Angeles and was directed by Vice Cooler, Peaches’ frequent video collaborator and co-producer of her new album.

Peaches, who conceived the video concept explained her inspiration, “I’m fascinated by Lucha VaVOOM, the work they do, and by classic bro movies like Rocky; the relationships between coach and student and between men and their sports. For ‘Close Up,’ I wanted to combine the two, adding some little twists.”‘Close Up’ features Kim Gordon on the hook. Gordon recently discussed the collaboration with Marc Maron on his WTF podcast saying it was “a minimal hip hop track, and I just put something down and then Peaches built a rap around it.”

Rachael Yamagata

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata will hit the road this fall for a run of headline dates across North America. These career-spanning sets will feature fan favorites and a collection of new songs from Yamagata’s forthcoming album, due for release in early 2016. The U.S. leg kicks off on October 15th at Club Café in Pittsburgh and wind down on November 17th at Webster Hall in New York City. See below for a complete list of dates. To purchase tickets, click HERE!.

Yamagata’s forthcoming album showcases her calling-card ability to articulate humanity’s struggles within relationships and the freedom that comes from celebrating that which we face alone and head on. The production is riskier and cinematic – think Tom Waits meets Roberta Flack, Nick Cave hanging with Rufus Wainwright. Rachael confounds a labeled genre and instead embraces the production that serves the story.

Rachael Yamagata breaks the mold of the singer/songwriter stereotype, and the DIY indie-artist model. She has released numerous albums and toured the world multiple times with sell-out concerts, and built a loyal and ever-growing fan base.

Chris Cornell

Chris Cornell’s debut single – “Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart” – from his forthcoming studio album Higher Truth accomplished a rare feat as it became the #1 most added single at Triple A and Active Rock, two distinctly different formats, this week. Hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as “dynamic,” “Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart” was also the #1 most added single at the Mainstream Rock format, a testament to the song and the legacy of the multiple Grammy® Award-winning, Golden Globe nominated and acclaimed singer and songwriter.

Higher Truth will be released on Friday, September 18, 2015 via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe), and fans can pre-order the deluxe version of album, which contains four bonus tracks, HERE. Produced by Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Neil Young), Higher Truth showcases Cornell’s constant evolution as a master songwriter, lyricist and musical craftsman – telling human stories which transcend musical genres. Inspired by the stark arrangements of musicians like Nick Drake, Daniel Johnston and White Album-era Beatles, Cornell creates a musical universe unlike anything he has done before.

In other news, Cornell will kick off the Higher Truth acoustic tour on September 18th in San Diego, CA crossing North America before winding down on November 4th in Phoenix, AZ stopping at famed venues like the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Massey Hall in Toronto and more.
