Ten Bands One Cause

Over a year ago, RED Distribution teamed up with some of its premiere label partners and artists to create and launch Ten Bands One Cause, a program that involved the creation of limited pink vinyl for ten different releases.

The program, which included notables like Against Me!, Courtney Barnett, Jason Isbell, Lucius, Temples and others, coincided with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). It raised nearly $30,000 for Gilda’s Club NYC,
an innovative cancer support organization founded in 1995 by psychotherapist Joanna Bull, Gene Wilder, Mandy Patinkin, Joel Siegel, and other generous individuals, in memory of SNL vet/actor/comedienne, Gilda Radner, who passed away in 1989 from cancer.

On September 29th, RED is set to release its second annual run of limited edition copies of pink vinyl from Run The Jewels, Sturgill Simpson, Ingrid Michaelson, Joey Bada$$, Between The Burried and Me, Chet Faker, Clutch, Al Green, Pierce The Veil, and Primus. The releases will be available for purchase at retailers nationwide wherever vinyl is sold, and proceeds will sponsor Gilda’s Club NYC.

Says Ingrid Michaelson of the project, “I lost my mother to cancer last year and want to do all I can do to help those affected by this cruel disease. I am honored to be a part of 10 bands One Cause benefiting Gilda’s Club NYC.”

Adds JP from Clutch,”Breast cancer is something that effects each one of us. We are honored to lend our support to Gilda’s Club NYC and their mission to support, empower, educate cancer patients and their families.”

Caligula’s Horse

Melding the forthright intensity of rock with the skill and inventiveness of progressive metal, Brisbane’s CALIGULA’S HORSE have announced the release of their 3rd record ‘Bloom’ through InsideOutMusic on October 16th, 2015 in EU & October 30th, 2015 in US, as well as extensive Australian and European tour dates. ‘Bloom’ follows 2011’s colourful and dynamic debut ‘Moments From Ephemeral City’, and 2013’s critically acclaimed dark narrative concept album ‘The Tide, the Thief & River’s End’, an album that Metal Obsession hailed as ‘nearly perfect’.

“‘Bloom’ is very special to all of us – it’s an album full of colour and life, vibrancy and energy, but one that breathes in and out with a natural ebb and flow,” says lead vocalist Jim Grey. “It’s exactly what we hoped to achieve with Caligula’s Horse. To us, this album has a life of its own.” Equal parts grandiose and crushing, melodic and energetic, enjoy the first taste of Caligula’s Horse’s third record ‘Bloom’ right this moment.

A seamless and horrowing blend of dark ambience, drone, black metal, post-rock and experimental electronics, Infinite Dissolution is the perfect manifestation of modern, forward-thinking experimental music!

“Infinite Dissolution is their most cogent, cohesive record to date” – Exclaim!Ca (8/10)

“as mesmerizing as it is disorientating.” – Consequence of Sound

Temple of Baal

French Black/Death metal veterans, TEMPLE OF BAAL, have set “Mysterium” as the title of their next full-length album, due on October 2nd via Agonia Records, and “Divine Scythe” as the first single to be released. The song, which features guest vocals by Georges Balafas (Drowning, Eibon, Decline Of The I) is available for listening at this link below:

In their over 15 years-long career, marked by four full-lengths and numerous split releases, the highly respected French coven TEMPLE OF BAAL have evolved from a primitive Black/Thrash outfit into a monstrous Black/Death Metal entity of epic dimensions. “Verses Of Fire”, the last album (2013), was acclaimed worldwide as a milestone in the band’s career, allowing TEMPLE OF BAAL to perform at notable festivals such as Hellfest, Motocultor, Summer Breeze, Kings Of Black Metal and Speyer Grey Mass. The formation also played selected shows in France, Finland, Germany, Switzerland and Austria, sharing the stage with the likes of Watain, Antaeus etc.

As the album’s title suggests, “Mysterium” dwells on the topics of spirituality and religiosity. “From the opener, Lord Of Knowledge And Death, to the closing number, All In Your Name, every inch of this record drips with it” – comments the band. “Mysterium can be seen a collection of meditations and prayers over the mysteries of Faith, directed towards the gods of the left hand path”.

Musically, TEMPLE OF BAAL’s Black Metal roots are back in full force, allowing the atmospheres to develop through songs of epic proportions, mostly clocking around 8 or 9 minutes each. “Mysterium” covers a wide musical specter, from slower ritualistic parts, to furious blasts and thrashy riffs or the surprisingly melodic choirs of “Magna Gloria Tua” and “Hosanna”, each song taking the listener into a spiritual journey, evolving through various climates, keeping the listener’s mind awake. “I never got that much into monotonous, uniform albums” – says band’s leader Amduscias. “I like music to take my mind from one point to another. Even if I have a strict view of what TEMPLE OF BAAL should be, stagnation is not something I’m very fond of.”
