Enchanted Forest

A magical weekend came to a close on the captivating grounds of historic Black Oak Ranch in Mendocino County as the 6th annual Enchanted Forest Gathering wrapped another wondrous festival experience within the lush embrace of the majestic oak forest and refreshing Tenmile Creek. Attracting attendees from all walks of life; millennials, bass heads, yogis, families, dancers and everyone in between, Enchanted Forest Gathering has cemented its spot as Northern California’s premier boutique music, movement, and conscious living camping festival. The event garnered national attention and participant adoration for several of its defining characteristics; being an alcohol-free event, enabling guests a safe container for all forms of expression (including #FreeTheNipple) as well as hosting an on-site medical cannabis dispensary — all while taking place in an incredibly comfortable family-friendly environment.

Extraordinary and unconventional, Enchanted Forest Gathering radiated sublime vibes that dazzled participants with a weekend chock-full of educational and inspiring workshops, wonky bass and eclectic live music, and an unrivaled offering of flow and movement classes of all forms including hooping, yoga, dance and even juggling. Distancing itself from its contemporaries in numerous ways, Enchanted Forest Gathering first and foremost fostered an alcohol-free environment, where attendees found themselves elevated to a state of higher presence, perfectly in line with the festival’s pillar of “cultivating clear and conscious connection.” Healthier (and tastier!) alternatives to alcohol were provided at each stage’s neighboring elixir bar, serving up an array of beverages from Americanos and hot chocolate to coconut water, Yerba Mate, Kombucha and cacao boosts. For those with a medicinal marijuana recommendation, local medical cannabis dispensary Emerald Pharms hosted a booth on site further displaying the festival’s forward thinking.

Beautifully constructed etched-wood stages, adorned with fresh greenery, flowers, crystals and vibrant colors were the aesthetic of the Mighty Oak main stage and the wet and wild River Stage, while velvet curtains and Greek-style columns dressed up the Live Lounge, all under the rich, green oak trees towering above them. With a focus on attendee comfort, each stage included shade structures to watch the show, foam dance floors, and lounge areas. A mix of incredible live bands and bass heavy artists united at the gathering with stand out sets from Shpongle, Clozee, Thriftworks, PANTYRAID, Love and Light, Nominus, Reid Speed, Soohan, KRNE, The Polish Ambassador, Autograf, Fanna Fi Allah, Ayla Nereo, and more.

Thoughtfully placed among the music stages were magical interactive micro-environments and art installations fit for revelers of all ages. Activities were plentiful for those who wanted to share special moments alone or with the whole tribe which included everything from themeandering Tenmile Creek Swimmin’ Hole that bordered one side of the grounds, the playful Kidslandia children’s area complete with free play and Montessori daycare services, the Namastage Yoga area and Dance Temple for amazing classes in movement with teachers such as Suzanne Sterling, Darin McFayden & Claire Thompson (of Yoga and Bass), and Saqi, the Nectar Temple and Wisdom Share University & Community Center for life-changing educational health & nutritional workshops, and of course the Saucy Spa stage with a one-of-a-kind foam bath party and ecstatic dance area.

The legendary venue became the sacred grounds for workshops covering four main topics: Relationships and Sexuality, Science and Spirituality, Health and Wellness and Nourishment and Nutrition with classes such as Opening Vulnerability, Women in Music Industry, Make Love like a Goddess, Healing Hugs, Rhythm Drum Circle, Clearing Relationship Karma, Next Level Nut Milks, a Cacao Ceremony and much, much more.

Big Top Heartbreak

‘DEADBEAT BALLADS’ is the debut album from an original and exciting artist, Big Top Heartbreak. Recorded in Bristol with some wonderful musicians including Quinta on saw (Bat For Lashes, Patrick Wolf), Pete Judge (Get The Blessing, Super Furry Animals), Jim Barr (Portishead) and TJ Allen (Bat For Lashes) who also produced and mixed the album. Essex born Scott Lavene, the lead man and songwriter, wrote the majority of the songs whilst in a house for the bewildered. Alive again and hungry for the chance to make music, Scott went on tour supporting Blue Rose Code in 2015 and set about making the album. Scott’s honesty, passion and humorous takes on life are here to enjoy in these fresh and original songs.

Live, Big Top Heartbreak is both a powerful and intimate affair. Touching, funny, honest and a master class in storytelling.

The album will be released on October 17th with a London launch party followed by a national solo tour to support the release.

MAHD has been working nonstop to put together a solid body of work. While we all wait on the next full length album, he decided to release some joints that were sitting on the Hard Drive. Some of which you may have heard, some may be new. Either way, enjoy! Stream the “After EP” below.

Liverpool 3-piece Shallows have returned from 12 months hidden away working on new material to release the imperious ‘Pale’ and ‘House of Love’ as a limited edition, double A-side vinyl release this July.

It’s a stunning debut from the band, with both tracks delivering an infectious, summer melody, soaked in classic influences, and leaving us craving more. Recorded with Dave Sanderson (65 Days of Static), the new single marks the start of a series of releases from the band following them signing up with Key Music Management (Pixies, Mew, Fratellis), and the future is already looking bright for the trio.

Shallows debut single ‘Pale / House of Love’ is released on strictly limited edition vinyl on July 29th 2016. The band will launch the new single with a show at London’s Old Blue Last on August 5th, before announcing wider tour dates for the autumn. ‘Pale’ is also available now as a free download from, where you can also pre-order a vinyl copy of the single.

Hologram Teen

Hologram Teen is releasing a 2-track single on 7″ vinyl via London’s Happy Robots Records. This is the solo electronic motorik disco project of Morgane Lhote, former long-term keyboard player of Stereolab.

Originally from Paris, Morgane moved to London when she was 20 and spent 12 years there. Then she moved to NYC and, nine years later, moved to Los Angeles. Her name is known to many for her work as keyboard player in the seminal indie kosmische act Stereolab, having recorded and performed with the band during their imperial phase between 1995 and 2001, when they released a series of career defining albums including ‘Emperor Tomato Ketchup’ and ‘Dots and Loops’. Fans of Common will also be able to find Morgane on the Sgt Pepper inspired sleeve for his Electric Circus album. She followed her time in Stereolab with a stint in The Projects and, from 2005, played in Garden with members of Simian Mobile Disco before starting the Hologram Teen project.

The Hologram Teen sound, although embracing electronica and pop, does so in a way that is more evocative of a prog rock disco horror soundtrack than the soulless EDM that fills the pop charts. “It’s like Fabio Frizzi meets Grandmaster Flash,” says Morgane Lhote. Her debut sold-out single ‘Post-Apocalypteacakes’ was released on London’s Deep Distance label and mixed creepy vintage library effects with bouncy dancehall synths and disco beats. Following its release, Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker came to be among her many newfound fans.

The Happy Robots Records single ‘Marsangst / Hex These Rules’ pushes Morgane’s electronic horror movie sound in a new direction, almost inventing a whole genre – ‘techno-Krautrock’. Sounding like the best of seminal French house pioneer Étienne de Crécy condensed down to five minutes and remixed by Stripe from Gremlins.

“With Marsangst, I wanted to write a minimal techno track that still retained groovy, more dance-like elements, with a splash of Krautrock and a futuristic vibe,” explains Morgane. “Kyaputen Fyucha is also on the cover, rescuing stranded space explorers one at a time with his magic pink disco vinyl, while Disco Démon gets serenaded by four-eyed cats. Never a dull day in the Hologram Teen galaxy!”

Her influences and tastes are super eclectic, citing Yellow Magic Orchestra, Chagrin d’Amour, NehruvianDoom, Maria Bethânia, The Salsoul Orchestra, Acid Washed, Jean Claude Vannier, Chicago, Del The Funky Homosapien, Silver Apples, Steely Dan, Don Armando’s Second Avenue Rhumba Band, Nancy Leticia, Riz Ortolani, and Siouxsie & The Banshees.

Written by Morgane Lhote and co-produced with Jonathan R. Freihofer, both tracks were mixed by Jonathan R. Freihofer and mastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering. The single’s glorious sci-fi artwork is by Alex Smith.

As Oakland, California artists Introflirt gear up for the release of their second album ‘Temporary Heaven’, they are teasing their first single ‘Frozen Lace’. Introflirt are Vafa, Ben Benjamin, and Brendan Dreaper.

This album represents the next stage of evolution in their self-described “croonwave” music. Dissolving notions of what electronic music should be into a colorful flurry that pops and sparkles, this albumis threaded together by a velvet voice and candid lyrics that touch on themes of disappointment in people, the fragility of relationships, and the path towards sexual liberation. True to Introflirt form, the songs on ‘Temporary Heaven’ maintain a delicate balance, offering the soundtrack to a life that is introverted while still reaching out.

The album’s first single ‘Frozen Lace’ was inspired by the struggle to overcome sexual repression, which generally goes hand in hand with some religions. It’s buzzing bass and squirming synth represent a tug-of-war between satisfying desires and fearing the potential consequences. Inspired by the concept that deciding between gratification or holding back entails excruciating self-torment, ‘Frozen Lace’ picks up on the lingering trepidation that moral laws often produce.

This was the first song to emerge for Introflirt after releasing their debut album. “This came from the longing to rid myself of guilt and fear of consequences when approaching certain desires,” explains vocalist and lyricist Ben Benjamin. “Growing up in a religious family – although my parents have pretty much been kicked out of every church they ever attended – installed many programs I’ve worked hard to disassemble.”

While Introflirt’s self-titled debut album documented the group testing the Flirty waters, the eight-track ‘Temporary Heaven’ jumps in without inhibition. The album retains the raw, gritty synth pop that endeared so many listeners to their debut release – but adds a seedier, darker, more danceable attitude, taking the Introflirt party from the rooftop to the basement.

While ‘Temporary Heaven’ presents Introflirt with a more energetic, modern feel, what stands out most is the transformation of Ben Benjamin’s vocals. After spending countless weekends in piano bars performing jazz standards, Benjamin’s vocal presence enters a similar space inhabited by the lounge singers of the 40s, 50s, and 60s, but set in the hazy, dim light of dance club beats.

Reinventing pop song structures to reflect the unpredictable nature of life’s twists and turns, the songs on this album present a clarity and confidence that’s a little bit dark, a little bit sentimental, and very very flirty.

Cancerous Womb

It’s been a busy couple of years for Scotland’s Cancerous Womb since their debut album, Born of A Cancerous Womb was released in 2014. With the extra two years under their belt, having toured across the USA & then around the UK with Benighted, the band, with new vocalist Bernard in tow, comes back to the fore with a new approach, an impending European tour, and resulting new EP; It Came To This, out now.

Guitarist Mike Robertson explains that the band has strayed from, “the usual death metal lyrical theatrics of gore/violence/horror/shock and the likes and heads down a more self-analysing approach with a grindcore appeal.”

“This is the first born of the experiment,” he goes on to state. “It’s more about the protagonist’s own internal workings, his crippling self-degradation and his drowning uncertainty, than our predecessors desire to slice apart women and shout about blood.”

Two Feet

After gaining an entirely organic following after uploading “Go Fuck Yourself” on SoundCloud a few months back, Bill Dess (aka Two Feet) has been picked up by certified tastemaker Majestic Casual, and today releases his debut EP via their label.

Two Feet fuses rhythm and blues guitars with modern dance music techniques, developing a unique framework and voice within the vast world of bedroom producers.’The First Steps’ EP is a collection of four tracks from the Harlem-based songwriter, whose sexy bedroom productions can draw similarities to Jai Paul, Darkside, Jack Garratt, Junior Kimbrough and Glass Animals.

“I didn’t set out to write an EP, I just set out to write music I really wanted to hear. I spend a lot of time on Soundcloud and I started getting bored of the fact that everything sounded the same so I wanted to make something different. The vision was never clear and it is still developing. It sorta just happened”.

Aside from finishing a follow up EP to come on Majestic Casual Records in the near future, Two Feet is preparing for multiple EU Festival shows this Fall, as well as a few select performances in the NYC area.

The Concrete Jungle is one hell of a place, especially for young up-and-coming. It takes a special kind of demeanor and artistic view to shine above the rest when it comes to New York – Bailo being a prime example and you can see it today as he makes his Buygore debut in Versace, a three-track EP available now for purchase via Beatport, Spotify, & iTunes.

Bailo flawlessly takes genre-bending to the next level in Versace as he flawlessly glides between tracks, never skipping a beat.

Linking artillery-weighted drops and staccato 808’s by way of catchy hooks, Bailo kicks off with lead single “Versace” with D-John. He then pumps up the volume as he maneuvers to bouncing moombah-jersey-infused synths in “Batman” where we see D-John once again, this time accompanied with Rodrigo Howell. Rounding out Versace, you’re graced with melodious piano riffs, complimented by the euphonious vocals of Tima Dee, the perfect combination leaving you with a fervent drops filled with velvety progressions.

We’re excited to be a part of Bailo’s journey and can’t wait to see what else he has in store.

Clutch has just released their new video for the song “A Quick Death In Texas”. The video was directed by David Brodsky / MyGoodEye (Papa Roach, In This Moment). “The video for ‘Quick Death In Texas’ was a lot of fun to make” states front man Neil Fallon. “Dave Brodsky and his crew did a great job and considering that the whole shoot was done in a single day is astonishing. The cast at Wild West City are a great group of folks. In a world of monster corporate theme parks, Wild West City is a rare gem. (And no… Wild West City is not in Texas. It’s in New Jersey in the shadow of the Poconos.)

“I won’t lie, I had a blast playing cowboy for a day, even if it meant getting repeatedly killed, sometimes by desperados, sometimes by trusted bandmates. Originally, I was going to be drawn-and-quartered, but we didn’t have the budget for four horses. So we opted for a traditional one-horse-dragging. And Lucky, the painted roan, did a fine job of delivering justice.”

Clutch continues their Psychic Warfare World Tour 2016. The band will be playing festivals and headlining shows throughout Europe and the UK this month before returning to the US to headline tour dates in September and October with Zakk Sabbath and Los Angeles based metal band Kyng. Psychic Warfare is the latest and eleventh studio effort from Clutch. On Record Store Day this past April 16th Clutch released a limited edition numbered etched vinyl 12 inch that included two previously unreleased tracks from the Psychic Warfare sessions: “Mad Sidewinder” and “Outland Special Clearance”. Danny Fornarnis

After the astonishing success of debut single “Anillos de Saturno” (Rings of Saturn), which surpassed 1 million plays, was on rotation in radio stations across Puerto Rico and Central America reaching No. 1 in countries like El Salvador, Danny Fornaris introduces new single “Si No Me Quieres” (If You Don’t Love Me) feat. Jani Sanchez. An interesting second single, a bit more on the Pop side, that still preserves his essence as a producer with both an innovative and distinct sound.

“Si No Me Quieres” will be premiered today exclusively on at 12 PM EST.

“’Si No Me Quieres’ is a song I created between 2010 and 2011 but was completed in 2016…that’s just how life is! It was one of the first songs I wrote for this project, so simple. Your first few creative works always have that spark!” affirms Danny.

“I’m collaborating with Jani Sanchez again because our fans asked me to multiple times! I think the chemistry we have will continue opening doors for us to create hit singles. The fans love it because it’s organic. I want to continue using this blessing to create more so I can give more to our fans.

“’Si No Me Quieres’ being that it was records years ago, had the opportunity to be played in many different venues in front of diverse audiences. From the first time we played it the response has been amazing! People learn the lyrics and sing along right away! It’s very catchy! It seems funny but, like in any scientific experiment, the results we got each time led us to conclude that this would be a hit single. We are very excited about releasing this song! As a producer, I’m stoked about the sound I created. I feel I raised my own production standards. I’m thankful that God gave me life and the opportunity to release ’Si No Me Quieres’ after all these years,” says Danny.

’Si No Me Quieres’ is part of Danny Fornaris’ new EP which is set to be released in the fall and more proof that Danny is one of the most interesting artists that has come to light in 2016.

The Fox and The Thieves

Red Moon Road

The path towards the new Red Moon Road album, ‘Sorrows and Glories’, began with a shattered leg, a cancelled tour and a long 2000 km trip home. Luckily, the Winnipeg folk trio is known for surviving adversity, spinning stories into songs and, more often, breaking hearts with stunning musicianship.

Red Moon Road, formed in 2012 by Daniel Jordan, Sheena Rattai and Daniel Peloquin-Hopfner, are now fully healed and returned from a year of extensive and adventure filled touring across 7 countries in Europe and North America. ‘Sorrows and Glories’ their third album has already received major plays and several weeks at number one on the Earshot! National Folk/Roots/Blues Charts in Canada.

‘Sorrows and Glories’ was recorded by producer/engineer/Juno recipient, David Travers-Smith (Wailin’ Jennys, Ruth Moody) and award winning producer/player Murray Pulver (Doc Walker, Steve Bell) and delivers the band’s finest songwriting to date. Spanning a wide range of genres, from a Beatles-esque pop song, Words of the Walls, which muses the storied past of an iconic apartment block, to Beauty in These Broken Bones, a full-on spiritual backed by a star-studded choir, the three collaborative yet distinct writers frame immaculately crafted songs with original and innovative instrumental work. With tastes of Albertan country, Parisian aires, banjo driven anthems and the tradition folk storytelling in a Canadiana style, the music carries the stories as compellingly as the lyrics.

Live, Red Moon Road makes a much bigger sound than one would expect from a trio. In an impressive well-choreographed show, bordering on spectacle, the trio incorporates impeccable three-part harmonies, a roots drum kit split entertainingly but pragmatically between two band members and an acoustic guitar rigged to also be a bass. A moustached man plays mandolin, lap steel, banjo and organ, and subtle technological wizardry whirls as the unmistakable soulful voice of one of Canada’s premiere songstresses floats above it all. Honed in house concerts and main stage festival appearances alike, Red Moon Road is a tapestry of song, masterful storytelling and spontaneous repartee woven seamlessly into something truly exceptional.

Scattered Hamlet

Scattered Hamlet have released the official video for “Swamp Rebel Machine”, the first single off of their upcoming full length album of the same name, set to be released in late Fall.

Scattered Hamlet is honky tonk metal mixed with a handful of cheap trucker speed with enough octane to survive a nuclear war. Created to capture the essence of growing up in the country while giving nods to the original classic rock and outlaw country pioneers, Scattered Hamlet is one part Lynyrd Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet and one part Motörhead and Down, featuring a sleazy southern influence laced with heavy rock elements.

Scattered Hamlet’s influences range from southern rock to groove metal to doom metal with the attitude of punk rock. With humble origins all across the US and a relentless touring schedule of 100+ shows all across America, the band makes no apologies for the equal love of Harley Davidson’s, honky tonks, Les Pauls, Marshall’s, shotguns and classic American symbolism.

The band is currently on tour. The remaining dates on the first leg are below:

Wednesday, 8-03-16 in Nashville, TN at Daisy Dukes
Friday, 8-05-16 in Westbrook, MN at Bonnie and Clydes II
Thursday, 8-11-16 in Des Moines, IA at Lefty’s Live

Future Generations

Future Generations will be releasing their self-titled debut album on Friday, July 29 via Frenchkiss Records (album links are below). In advance of the album’s drop the band are sharing “Thunder In The City”, the new single from the record.

The band’s Eddie Gore says “We are extremely excited to be finally releasing this out to the world. We’ve grown so much through this process and I have to say that is probably the biggest theme through the whole thing: Growth.”

“Thunder In The City” is one of the last songs written for the record, and it best embodies the band’s feelings about the upcoming release. Eddie adds “I don’t want to get too specific about meaning behind the song because it’s not supposed to be specific, but it’s definitely about being happy in a moment and about looking back and being happy with yourself”.

In the style of MGMT, Friendly Fires and FUN, Future Generations have excellent pop-sensibilities and know just how to draw a listener in. Apart from the hooky vocal and melodic components making “Thunder In The City” a rich sonic experience, they also know how to provide sufficient variety of sounds pulling off the track’s all-important hooks.

On the eve of their debut’s release Future Generations will be playing a record release show at NYC’s Mercury Lounge (July 29), and it is a great starting point for any NY listeners to check out what all the fuss is about. In addition, they are playing the following dates this summer with more to be announced:

7/29 – Mercury Lounge – New York NY

8/5 – Tropicalia – Washington, DC

8/12 – Johnny Brenda’s – Philadelphia, PA

8/18 – Great Scott – Boston, MA

8/26 – Fete Lounge – Providence, RI
