Natalie Lurie

Nashville musician Natalie Lurie has released her latest single, “I Was Gold,” offering the track as an instant download with her EP pre-order at iTunes. The full EP, No Mercy In The Night, is due out March 25. Listeners can preview the track by streaming it below.

“I Was Gold” is an emotionally charged song, offering Natalie’s perspective on an unhealthy relationship. “The relationship was not about how I felt or if I loved him. I was his possession, a piece of gold he was holding onto, coveting and protecting,” reflects Natalie.

Her fascination with the harp began at age 7 when she spotted the instrument in a music shop. She sat down and began strumming until the shop owner closed up for the night. Natalie’s harp studies have taken her across the globe. During her senior year of high school she attended the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. After that, she studied privately in France and Switzerland, before returning to the US where she completed her undergraduate work under renowned harpist Susann McDonald at Indiana University.

Though she is classically trained, Natalie has always held an interest in expanding the harp beyond its traditional classical genre. Before moving to Nashville to pursue songwriting and performing, she spent time in Muscle Shoals, AL working with original session musicians from the 1960s. After releasing No Mercy In The Night this spring, she will move to London to pursue a Master of Arts in Harp Performance at the Royal Academy of Music.

Calling All Astronauts

Supersonic Media are proud to present “Anti-Social Network” the eagerly awaited second album from London based Alt Rock three-piece Calling All Astronauts. Containing their hit single “Empire” (which is currently #3 in the Official European Indie Chart after it hit #1 on the Hypem Chart on the day of its November release), “Anti-Social Network” is the follow up to their critically acclaimed debut “Post Modern Conspiracy”. It is the result of 20 months of insane creativity that saw the guys locked in their studio for days on end as they wrote, engineered and produced an album that stretched their creativity like never before.

The thought that they mash together Rock, Electro, Goth, DnB, Punk and EDM into a unique genre that is remotely listenable seems somewhat preposterous until you listen to “Anti-Social Network”. They have in no way tried to hide their love for classic Alternative Rock, instead they have brought it firmly into the 21st Century. Known for not being ones to mince their words, Calling All Astronauts once again dig deep into the fabric of society. There are no elephants in their room as they take on controversial matters including; youth knife crime in “Hands Up Who Wants To Die”, the war for oil in “Divisive”, social inequalities in “Time To Fight Back” and the disposable consumer driven society in “God Is Dead”. Yet they still manage to explore their softer side in “Empire”, “Life As We Know It” and “Always Be True”. Producer and vocalist David B says “We wanted to make an album we would buy ourselves, that pays homage to our heroes and many influences whilst still sounding like us. I think we’ve just about got there”.

Night Argent

Since announcing the release of their debut self-titled EP [out 4/22/16], Washington alternative pop/rock outfit Night Argent have been receiving rave reviews across the board. NW Music Scene hailed the EP as one that could “easily be found on a playlist that includes Imagine Dragons, Bastille, and Awolnation…packed with rock-tinged tracks, filled with infectious lyrics and melodies,” and fans are wildly anticipating hearing more. Today, Night Argent is answering their call by partnering with Baeble Music to premiere their soulful yet stratospheric rock ballad, “Kamikaze,” before they hit the road to play SXSW Music Week. The track is one that consistently brings out the most gut-wrenching and emotional performances from the band, mirrored in the track’s impassioned lyrics, and can be streamed here. Here is what Night Argent’s frontman Chase Manhattan had to say about “Kamikaze”:

“By far one of our favorites to play live, ‘Kamikaze’ is a song that allows us to put everything we have out there with no reservations, and the energy and freedom that brings us tends to carry through the rest of our set. The Japanese word ‘Kamikaze’ translates into english as “Divine Wind” or “Typhoon”, and throughout the song, it’s used as a metaphor for the beautifully unpredictable nature of love and its limitless potential for chaos and destruction. When the day comes you find yourself falling in love, you learn you have two choices. Try to distance yourself from it, or embrace it fully. Either way, you just pray it doesn’t leave you completely and utterly destroyed.” – Chase Manhattan
