Principe Valiente

After an outstanding self-titled debut album in 2011 and the breathtaking „Choirs Of Blessed Youth“ in 2014, the Swedish post punk / shoegaze band lead by Fernando Honorato, true to their vision, continues to carve out its own unique musical path. Drawing inspiration from ambient experimentalists like Cocteau Twins, 80’s sci-fi soundtracks as well as exuberant vocalists like Bowie and Kate Bush, PRINCIPE VALIENTE ventured deeper into the sonic landscapes of their minds.

The intensity of the atmospheric sound and the interplay of melodic guitar strings, the dark drifting drums, rhythmic bass lines and above all the warm, emotional voice of the singer, have remained. The listener is captured in a mixture of longing and loneliness, which is fluently and hypnotically directed. Calm pieces alternate with energetic compositions, such as the recently released single “Strangers In The Night”, and give the album a strong note of ambivalence.

With their third work „Oceans“, the band has created another alluring world with “human, all too human” lyrics and phantasmagorical soundscapes. Cool, yet impassioned and loaded with sweet anxiety, PRINCIPE VALIENTE have managed to make an irresistibly beautiful and intense continuation of what was started in the previous two albums.

„Oceans“ was partly recorded by the producer Martin Ehrencrona (Les Big Byrd), and partly in various basements and art school lobbies around their hometown Stockholm, Sweden. The combination of innovative and inspired material makes for an invigorating listen as it is difficult to pinpoint in regard to genre.

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to announce the release of JORN’s brand new studio album, entitled “Life on Death Road” on June 2, 2017.

Easily one of the greatest rock singers of the 21st century, Norway’s very own giant Viking warrior Jorn Lande’s vocals are resoundingly strong once again on his ninth original studio album, “Life on Death Road”! This absolutely brilliant new album sees Lande attacking the microphone with rejuvenated vigor, accompanied by a new band and a bigger and stronger sound.

“Life On Death Road” took several months of hard work for the songwriting vision to come together. Jorn needed to take the music to a new level to push the concept of the band further than it has ever gone before. The result is a record that is deep, strong, full of groove and powerful with anthemic songs aplenty! Songs like “Man Of The 80’s”, “Love Is The Remedy”, “Life On Death Road”, “Insoluble Maze (Dreams In The Blindness)”, and “The Slippery Slope (Hangman’s Rope)” capture the essence of Jorn as a singer, songwriter and lyricist.

The album also marks the debut of a new lineup of very experienced and gifted musicians around the Norwegian singer. On bass is Mat Sinner (Primal Fear, Sinner, Kiske/Somerville) who needs virtually no introduction to European heavy metal fanatics. On keyboards and production is Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Revolution Saints), who already joined JORN for the recording of his last covers album, “Heavy Rock Radio” and was the glue that helped Jorn to create the feel and the direction for the new album. Francesco Iovino (Primal Fear) is on drums and Alex Beyrodt (Primal Fear, Voodoo Circle) handles guitar. Truly a recipe for a roaring success!

Jordan Mackampa

Today, Coventry-based singer Jordan Mackampa releases his sublime new EP ‘Tales From The Broken’. Self-released – the EP is a soulful, passionate return, arriving just ahead of a sold-out London headline show and full UK tour. An undeniable example of his songwriting and vocal talents.

An old soul, with an enlightened voice, Jordan Mackampa is a huge talent destined for stardom. Originally hailing from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the now Coventry-based singer’s new EP ‘Tales From The Broken’ is a powerful return, cementing him as one of 2017’s most exciting new artists with a blossoming future.

Often described as a troubadour, Jordan Mackampa is an artist with timeless soul, and lyrics drenched in heart-felt empathy. As a man who was born in Kinshasa, grew up in London and became an artist in Coventry, Jordan’s music is swimming in the sounds and stories of the cities he’s inhabited over the years.

Spending the last 6 months crafting his sound and becoming a mainstay fixture on the live circuit; with upcoming showcases at The Great Escape, and a full UK tour running throughout May, Jordan Mackampa is most certainly cementing himself as a strong contender for 2017.

The new EP follows in the footsteps of his incredible singles ‘Open Arms’ and ‘Midnight’ from his ‘Physics’ EP released last September. Both jazz influenced singles propelled Jordan into the spotlight and gained fans from NME, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash Magazine, Indie Shuffle, The 405 and more.

Apple Music featured both of Jordan’s previous singles in their Best New Artists of The Week section, with BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart and Beats1’s Julie Adenuga supporting.

Honey West

HONEY WEST, the New York guitar-rock band featuring the new “odd couple” songwriter pairing of Foreigner and King Crimson founding member Ian McDonald, and Shakespearean thespian Ted Zurkowski of The Actors Studio, will be releasing DEMENTIA, the self-deprecating 1st single from its explosive debut album, Bad Old World (Readout Records).

DEMENTIA, the album’s closing track, is a tightly wound, foot-stomping, Saturday-night rocker highlighted by multi-instrumentalist McDonald’s baritone sax – which originally left a memorable imprint on T. Rex’s iconic “Get It On (Bang A Gong).” But Zurkowski’s typically droll, self-deprecating lyrics elevate the song far beyond the typical party-hearty blueprint, and identify its creators as a rock ’n’ force. DEMENTIA is a perfect portal into the off-kilter world of HONEY WEST, so named after the groundbreaking 1960s TV series about a sexy female secret agent.

ABC News Radio called DEMENTIA “infectious,” citing – you guessed it – McDonald’s “rocking” sax solo. The track will be available as a single on all major digital services, including iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, and Spotify. Bad Old World, due May 19, will be simultaneously available for pre-order this Friday on iTunes and Amazon. Those who pre-order the album on iTunes will receive an “instant gratification” track of DEMENTIA included in the purchase. Here’s the iTunes link:

Aiding and abetting McDonald and Zurkowski in HONEY WEST is a troupe of top-shelf musicians including drummer Steve Holley, whose credits include, among other notable artists, Paul McCartney & Wings, and McDonald’s son Maxwell on bass. BAD OLD WORLD also boasts a special guest appearance by Graham Maby (Joe Jackson, They Might Be Giants), who plays bass on several tracks.

On Friday, May 26th Acid Box Promotions and riotous feminist cult Bitchcraft, will be hosting a themed tribute night for Kim Shattuck from The Muffs with two perfect West Coast bands to be the performing maidens of honour: Death Valley Girls and The Darts (US) at Sticky Mike’s Frog in Brighton. This is sure to be well a well oversubscribed event so get in there early.

The Darts, Death Valley Girls and The Priscillas

LA and Phoenix grrrl supergroup The Darts (US) kick off their European tour with fellow desert darlings Death Valley Girls and city babes The Priscillas for a two night stand in London and Brighton. Thursday, May 25th The Dirty Water Club will unveil Dirty Water Records hottest new recording artists The Darts, along with Damage Goods artists The Priscillas at the Finsbury Pub. Tickets are already flying fast for this one!

Kate Grom

“Whistle Cry is the lead track on Kate Grom’s debut album Heroine, released February 2017. The song lyrics were inspired by her soul-searching European travels, with music drawing influences from a vintage vinyl collection of classic rock and country greats ranging from Fleetwood Mac to Emmylou Harris, as well as her college years experiencing the Nashville music scene.

Heroine was produced by the Grammy Award-winning Stewart Lerman, who has worked with Willie Nelson, Sharon Van Etten, Elvis Costello, Neko Case and Patti Smith, among others. The nine tracks feature world-class musicians who have recorded with artists including Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, My Morning Jacket, Brandi Carlile, Lana Del Rey and the Eagles, resulting in an album described by No Depression Magazine as ‘when country meets smooooth’.

Kate Grom resides in the West Village of New York City, and her family’s farm in the historic hills of western New Jersey also featured prominently into the creation of her debut album. She is a world champion horsewoman, so it was natural have her riding Beauty Queen (aka Beauty) and Perfect Vengeance (aka Ace), with her leading man (on screen & off!), actor Chase Burnett, on Hancock Gray Bar (aka Blue) in the making of “Whistle Cry”.

Moon Hooch

Cult techno-jazzers Moon Hooch will return to the UK in June with shows in Brighton and London’s Omera on June 11th, and 12th respectively. Comprised of tenor saxophonist Mike Wilbur, baritone sax/bass clarinet Wenzl McGowen, and drummer James Muschler, the trio will deliver their high-energy, intoxicating sound, that merges elements of indie rock, virtuosic jazz and pulse-pounding electronic dance music with a DIY aesthetic.

So popular as student buskers on New York’s subways that the NYPD famously banned their impromptu shows as a public-order hazard, Moon Hooch have since gone from strength to strength; selling out major venues in the US, touring globally, and releasing their third album Red Sky in 2016. They took audiences by storm on this side of the Atlantic last year with dates throughout the UK/Europe, which included stand-out performances at the O2 Academy Islington and the Love Supreme Jazz Festival.

In addition to the summer dates, the band will release Live at the Cathedral on CD/DVD on June 30th on Hornblow Recordings, and more shows are expected to be announced in the autumn.

Virginia’s INTER ARMA has announced North American tour dates throughout August and September. The band will perform headlining concerts from August 5-17 then appear at the third annual Psycho Las Vegas the weekend of August 18-20. Afterward, INTER ARMA will provide support for Pelican from August 21-26 with additional headline shows to follow.

Additionally, INTER ARMA has shared a trance-inducing video for the title-track from 2016’s critically acclaimed full-length Paradise Gallows. Watch the video, directed by Jordan Vance,at the link below

Finnish progressive metal band Humangod has released a new single today May 2nd 2017 and hits the road for Eastern European tour. The “Real Me” is Humangod’s fourth release and it presents an energetic and especially metal-infused Humangod, who still beautifully hold on to their roots.Humangod was founded in 2008. Their music can be described as atmospheric, progressive metal from Finland.

Quiet Boy

Quiet Boy’s ‘Supergirl’ developed from a very dark time in principal member and songwriter Gaz Tomlinson’s life. The track, taken from upcoming debut EP ‘Earwig’, works through negative and positive cycles of thought, with its slow burning tempo and acoustic lo-fi meets electro-glitch sound palette.

The song was initially an ode to Tomlinson’s partner, musician and performer Brigitte Aphrodite, and the loss of a major book of her poetry (‘Throwing words into the ocean’) on a night spent on a Hastings beach. The video revisits the same stretch of beach but the track takes on a new persona as ‘Supergirl’ confronts the misunderstanding and persecution of LGBTQ individuals and their relationships.

Gaz explains, “For the visual we wanted to subvert the surface meaning of the song. Supergirls can come in any form and be different things to different people. In this case this is what the song means to band member Alex Faye Braithwaite.”

He adds, “the song ‘sung by a man about a woman’ acts as a counterpoint to the video, where we see a ‘woman singing about a woman’. The words on her body express the stigma attached to her sexuality, and the bravery involved in washing them away”

Their 4 track debut EP ‘Earwig’ includes Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing favourite ‘Redeem’. There is much to delve into and savour, both musically and lyrically – the collection was produced (with Gareth Tomlinson and band member Russell Ditchfield) by Nick Trepka (Emmy The Great, Speech Debelle).

InderPaul Sandhu

InderPaul Sandhu is a first generation Christian, meeting Christ 7 years ago in a barber shop music has been a tremendous tool that God has used to shape his life. The man that was born to a Sikh father and Hindu mother, now wants to be used by God to help usher people from his own community towards the Lord. In particular Asian youth, he says “I remember watching stars in their eyes when I was ten years old and this little white kid sung puppy love. Everyone was watching it in awe and I remember saying I wish I could do that. My godmother then asked me why I couldnt? And I replied her because I was Indian. She then told me that talent didnt have any color he then went onto say I know I aint the only Indian kid that’s felt like that.”

InderPaul strongly believes God has made him a niche for a niche community and that music is how he is going to impact his community and generation.

Ghost Toast

Ghost Toast is an instrumental, experimental progressive rock band from Debrecen, Hungary, formed in 2008. They love heavy, trippy music and film scores as well, so they use these elements to create their own music.

With their 3rd album, titled Out of this world, the band used elements of heavy prog rock, world music, folk, and electronic music. The songs on are connected by a loose concept – a connection between fantasy and some mythological themes (influenced by the Dark Tower saga by Stephen King, Dune by Frank Herbert, I am legend by Richard Matheson, greek mythology, etc.).

The band’s music is influenced by bands like Tool, Faith No More, Mastodon, Crippled Black Phoenix, Ulver, Special Providence, Oceansize, Jaga Jazzist, Shpongle, Orbital, Ott, Plaid, Future Sound Of London, various film score composers (like Ennio Morricone, Jeremy Soule), etc.

During their concerts Ghost Toast uses projected background visuals which are created by the band specifically for the songs.

Icelandic old school death metal band Narthraal is about to release their debut album named “Screaming From The Grave”. The album is released May 26th via Finnish label Inverse Records. Vocalist/bassist Viktor comments the album and single:

“Screaming From The Grave focuses more or less on human greed and how it is consuming the world and destroying it, the evil of organized religion and of course, gore, death and zombies!. Death of the undying revolves around religion and how more and more people are slowly becoming enlightened”

He also gave details about the upcoming tour:

“The upcoming tour ‘Lullabies From The Grave’ is our very first tour overseas and we can’t wait to stand on stage in front of a whole new audience!”

Strange Cages

Strange Cages_2017

Strange Cages are set to make their return with an epic new EP this June and UK tour in May. With their frenetic, snotty, psych-surf rock ‘n’ roll sound in the vein of The Cramps or Ty Segall, Brighton’s Strange Cages have made big strides in their short existence, gaining support from the likes of Clash Magazine, NME, Q Magazine, The 405 and The Line of Best Fit, whilst tearing up stages in support of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Night Beats, and Boogarins.

Having followed up their Theo Verney produced debut ‘Desert’ with their next release ‘Pony’, the trio are now set to release a new 6-track EP ‘The Cracks’ on Vallence Records this June, with ‘Leader Of A Cult’ being the first track to surface from the upcoming EP. Combining elements of krautrock and post-punk with a paranoid, schizophrenic vocal, Brighton has unearthed another gem in a city currently producing some of the most exciting acts in the UK at the moment.

Strange Cages release ‘The Cracks’ through Vallence Records on June 16th 2017. The band will also hit the road this May for a series of dates throughout the UK.

Running Death

With their 2015 debut album “Overdrive” they triggered a positive as well as far-reaching surprise-effect as a vertical starter, which attracted a multitude of worldwide fans. Countless reviews attested the band around guitarist and singer Simon Bihlmayer with their ‘dancing from the row’ material, a very own, upscale class. Encouraged by this, the songwriting became even more hungry, but also more settled and determined. And now RUNNING DEATH are back with a new work: “DressAge” titled, the second longplayer presents the crisp rocking THRASH METAL of the Bavarians in so far unheard freshness and dynamics!

Official release date for “DressAge” is May 26th, 2017.

Whoever, as a new listener wants to get a route for orientation in advance – many sorts of references to Megadeth lead in the correct direction. For friends of such stylistics, it should be difficult in any case to resist ultra-melodic and discreetly progressive rhythm-grenades like “Heroes Of The Hour”. Similar to the aforementioned US giants, RUNNING DEATH also let all classic, grippy Rock elements flow in homogeneously manner into their partly hit-suspicious staged Thrash alarm.

Even on the textual level, there is deliberately thought-through content. Often written with a pinched eye, the quartet’s punctual lyrics are definitely the most readable in the genre. With tracks like “Duty Of Beauty” for example, RUNNING DEATH humorously relate to the ever-dehumanizing fashion madness of today. The natural, striking singing of frontman Simon, who already caused lively discussions with the successful debut-disk, breaks out of the ten new songs even more individual and uncompromising.

Even in the balladesque passages, the guitarist, as a convinced 100 % guy, simply inverts his innermost outwards with full emotion, instead of following the standards of the metier. The detailed front cover for “DressAge” was created by the Mexican graphic artist Joel Sánchez Rosales, which was the perfect match for the lyrical relationship to the delicious dressage theme of the title song.

Freya Wilcox and The Howl

The word “gritty” gets thrown around a lot when examining punk rock or the blues. In the case of New York-by-way-of-Australia blues-punk-rocker Freya Wilcox, her story embodies that of a passionate, blue collar artist.

Her debut LP with her band The Howl (Craig Shay on bass & backing vox, CJ Dunaieff on drums), Tooth & Nail, speaks back and brings to the present everything that makes Wilcox who she is today.

Starting off as a ballsy 10 year old in Queensland, Wilcox tore through a few bands until turning 16 and moving to Brisbane to work as a laborer in outback mining camps to earn the cash to put herself through school. It was there that she met a Native American guitarist who taught her to love the blues. After that, Wilcox quickly fell in love with a New Yorker while in Sydney and before long had sold her books, records and many of her guitars and was on a plane to the Big Apple with a bag of clothes, 4 guitars and a tube amp.

After cutting her teeth playing solo at late night at dive bars on the Upper West Side, Wilcox found her backing band and quickly stormed the local scenes and toured. With the band’s debut full-length on the way, Wilcox pulls no punches upon reflection:

“Tooth & Nail has been in the works for a turbulent year and has documented my fall into the despair of active sex and love addiction and subsequent crawl back to baseline. The record documents a near-lethal trip through divorce, abuse, heartbreak, love, death, growth and above all, survival. During its recording there have been hospitalizations, overdoses, lies, breakups, old wounds and new beginnings, and the whole story is told in 9 searing tracks using every ounce of vintage muscle that Sabella Studios could offer.”

The Big Drops

Time. Color

Currently making strides in the constantly evolving Brooklyn music scene, NJ-based rockers The Big Drops’ origin story couldn’t be any further from pavement and concrete. The band was formed in 2011 when brothers Greg (lead vox, rhythm guitar) and Vramshabouh Kherlopian (lead guitar, backing vox) went to live together in a small log cabin for three years. They bought their own recording equipment, and went through numerous lineup changes before finding Caleb Estey (drums) and Steve Donahue (bass) in 2015.

Now, The Big Drops are readying up to release their debut full length, Time, Color, out June 23rd via self-release.

Channeling genre-hopping forebears, Time, Color finds The Big Drops running through a sonic wilderness inspired by left-of-center pop music of the late 1960’s & contemporary musicians with subtle electronic tendencies.

“We feel like our music touches on a variety of different vibes and colors,” shares Vramshabouh. “So we like to think the overall theme of this album is diversity of life, the different emotions there are, and how we can express different feelings while still being the same person. Essentially, life is complex and beautiful, is the theme.”

Fame On Fire

Fame On Fire Album Cover

Fame on Fire releases their brand new music video for their single “Another One”. This in advance of their EP Transitions due out this Friday, 5/19! Bryan, Blake, and Alex all grew up as neighbors next to each other in South Florida. Alex and Blake started jamming together between the ages 13-14 all while Bryan was also playing in bands at the same age. They went to the same schools, played sports together, and then it wasn’t until they were about to graduate high school that they got together and formed their first band collectively called You Set Aside. They had played as that band for about 2 years, playing every local venue every single weekend. These are the years that they developed loyalty and trust in each other.

Bryan and Blake decided to move to Orlando where they had built a home studio for recording. Alex wanted to start doing Drum Covers on youtube and chose to start with Unconditionally by Katy Perry. Blake managed to throw some guitar work on it and they decided to have a vocalist sing on the track, with no one around we asked Bryan if he wanted to and even though he was reluctant at first he did it and it came out the way you see it on YouTube now. The response was unbelievable and they all decided to come back and create this new sound with catchy melodies, pop song structure, and mix it with our heavy/rhythmic patterns. They developed their sound, and their audiences ear, to a sonic brew that we now call Fame On Fire. They moved back down to South Florida (hometown) and Bryan started recording more and more artists using the equipment they acquired when building their first studio. Needing an engineer and partner in crime Bryan ended up meeting with fellow engineer Paul Spirou. Paul was playing guitar in a different band but was always around Fame On Fire as they did new videos and songs. It came to a point where they didn’t have a solid bass player and at the time and we were about to start shooting a new cover video (The Hills Cover) they asked Paul if he would want to be in the video. He said yes, and it went so well that Paul became part of the band. They have found their final 4 and we have a very strong core in which we all share the same vision and goals that we all want to achieve in this journey with Fame On Fire

Brisbane has unearthed a promising and exciting new band that is set to change the way pop-punk is delivered, featuring dual vocalists and armed with a fierce new EP due for release in May. Introducing Shorelines – a four-piece that heralds from Brisbane and formed in the wake of the demise of pop-punks finest former risers, Call The Shots and Rum, Forest, Rum.

Shorelines, featuring Harry White (Lead vocals and bass guitar) and Dylan Thompson (Lead vocals and rhythm guitar) – former members of Call The Shots – and Sean Fisher (Lead guitar) and Shaman Grayson (Drums) – former members of Rum, Forest Rum, start a new chapter in Brisbane’s music scene and hope to quickly pave their way to the forefront of their genre.

The single “New Heights” is a song about one chapter closing and the start of new beginnings. A fitting song for a band well in its youth. “I wrote this song about my old band breaking up and having to start again with Shorelines,” says Harry. “New Heights definitely shows off our positivity towards the new band, but also displays some anger towards people that brought us down in the past.”

The “New Heights” EP sets the bar high for their future releases and throws them straight into the depths of the pop/punk scene. With catchy melodies, relatable lyrics and elaborate instrumentals, this release proves to be something completely unique and exciting for the genre
