Ed Prosek

Ed Prosek’s new single, ‘Holy Water’, is a powerful and introspective reflection on the inescapable pressure that everyone feels in trying to find their place in the world, and how sometimes in order to move forward one must tear down the life they have created around themselves and start again. We all feel the need to lean on the things that make us comfortable, and hide behind familiarity in the face of change.

Ed describes this journey of shedding one’s former skin and finding the truth hidden beneath, drawing you in with beautiful, rich and enticing melody and arrangement. Ed’s style of writing has grown and developed from his previous releases, maturing into sound that transcends the singer-songwriter mold to create something powerful and unforgettable. Holy Water is the first in a series of songs that does exactly what this song says – to stop looking to the past, and allow us to face the future.

Following the success of his single, ‘Hold On Tight’ and EP, ‘The Riverbed’, Ed has been performing and touring in the UK, US and throughout Europe, including major support tours and festivals. Recently relocating to Berlin to write and record new material, he was also selected to be included on ‘The Art Of Peace II: Songs for Tibet’, alongside artists including Sting, Kate Bush and Lorde. Ed returns with his new release, ‘Holy Water’, in advance of his upcoming EP and international tour dates at the beginning of the new year

2015 has been a whirlwind year for Big Boi, Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter, the trio known as Big Grams. Australian R&B singer, songwriter Natasha’s new song “Code Blue (Don’t Leave Me Cold)” takes you away from your lighthearted summer fling and into the realities of a cold, unrequited love. With lyrics like “please hold on tight/don’t leave me cold” and “free me from this room/hurry, hurry down the hallway” it transports you into a tumultuous, melodic ballad that you don’t want to step out of this wistful winter. Her movement “The New Renaissance” is an ode to her artistic love of the Renaissance era that aims to connect music with all forms of art while reflecting a desire for hope.

Natasha’s 2nd EP, “Into the Sun,” produced by Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Whitney Houston’s producer, Rob Fusari, is set to release November 2015. Jnay Sewell, writer of Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” and Andrea Martin, writer for Mary J Blige and Leona Lewis collaborated on Natasha’s 2nd EP. “Code Blue” follows the success of her critically acclaimed first EP, “Sending Out a Message” with a powerful anthem that demands your replay button’s attention.

Nico and Vinz

The Norwegian duo behind last year’s song of the summer “Am I Wrong” are back with a new EP out tomorrow, November 6th.

The 5-track EP follows Nico & Vinz’ successful full-length Black Star Elephant while taking a new spin on their signature sound, embracing pop, indie and dance for a flourishing, seamless fusion of genres.

The Wild Wild

What does one say about a track that sounds like an instant hit? Does one focus on the fact that it’s great, hooky, memorable and brilliant? Or does one mention the fact it sounds like an electro/indie/pop anthem in the style of MGMT, Friendly Fires and Walk The Moon?

The Wild Wild is a one-man-band consisting of Benjamin Dunn, a lad who one day decided to escape Illinois and live freely along the beaches of California whilst searching for something more meaningful in his existence… And guess what… He found it somewhere along the Californian coast where the calling for music had awoken in him and hasn’t left since…

The Wild Wild’s new single is a demonstration of the electro pop anthem with the Temper Trap-like arrangements of drum beats, well executed grandiosity of pounding pedals and soaring vocals shadowed by drizzling synths. Sing flirts with both pop and rock ears and leaves a listener wanting more, and you know where it’s headed from the word ‘go’. Simply speaking it’s a great showcase of quality song writing and sonic creativity in a classy electro/indie/pop bundle, which will be out on The Wild Wild’s debut LP Friday 22nd January 2016.

Chelsea Lankes

Los Angeles singer/songwriter Chelsea Lankes has had a whirlwind 2015, starting with two polished pop tunes “Down For Whatever” and “Too Young To Fall In Love,” a cover of one of Mötley Crüe’s earlier singles and deeper cuts. In addition, Chelsea also teamed up with Chance The Rapper to write a song for his VICE short film “Mr. Happy” as well as being the featured vocalist on RAC’s “Can’t Forget You.” With early radio support from KCRW, KXRN, and 98.7FM KYSR in Los Angeles, as well as a nod from Spotify in their New Music Playlist series, it’s safe to say that Chelsea is having a good year.

Now as 2015 comes to a close Chelsea is being featured as a BCBG “GenGirl” as she gears up for her anticipated EP in 2016 on B3SCI Records. In the mean time, Chelsea rounds out the year with a new track called “Home” today. “Home” is the latest unshakeable pop gem from Texas-bred songstress Chelsea Lankes, whose not-so-shy alto floats effortlessly over a bed of twinkling electronics, as she admits “I’ve been told that I’m restless, I’ve been hurting like hell.” The tune’s frank message blooms on the pre-chorus when Lankes doubles her pace, breathily cooing, “Saw what I had broken, you put it in place, yeah I know.” But the track hits its stride fully on the larger-than-life chorus that once again showcases Lankes’ true pop star swagger, as she surrenders to the object of her affection on the hook, “now I can see, you’re my home.”

Elliot Maginot

Montreal-based Elliot Maginot unveils new video for Survival, new single from his debut full length YOUNG/OLD/EVERYTHING.IN.BETWEEN produced by Jace Lasek (Besnard Lakes, Suuns). The song registers in Maginot’s peculiar brand of atmospheric folk, although the melody reveals this time a sense of urgency and spontaneity Pierre-Luc Racine, the director, was able to capture in a beautifully shot video. A brilliant and mesmerizing piece.

Ever since his first album’s release only nine months ago, the singer songwriter has made his music travel across borders. With shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and a stint in France, Maginot is now getting ready to support Coeur de pirate’s Europe tour and also be part of Paris’ Festival Aurores. Building on this international reach, he will also be part of M for Montreal’s opening night on November 18 to charm industry delegates and fans alike following his two sold out shows this summer at Montreal’s International Jazz Festival.

Norwegian indie-pop darling and recent MTV EMA Award winner Astrid S premieres her highly anticipated “Hyde” music video this week on The FADER this week. The music video, starring Astrid and highly acclaimed contemporary dancer/actor Viktor Leifsson as Hyde, was shot in stunning surroundings in Reykjavik, Iceland earlier this fall and was directed by Hörður Sveinsson and Helgi Jóhannsson and produced by Atli Viðar Þorsteinsson.

“My second music video! We shot it in this beautiful house, and outside around Reykjavik in the beautiful surroundings. We used a lot of mirrors, which helped me convey the message about a person transforming into another person. It was such a cool experience to record my video on Iceland, and also with a dancer and a big film crew. Everyone was so professional and nice that everything felt like a dream (except from swimming in the ice cold water. Brrr). I hope you like it! – Astrid S

The track, produced by the raging popular Lido (The Weeknd, Alt-J, Bastille, Banks) and co-produced by the Swedish duo Cal Maui & Blisse, has already received wide critical acclaim and jumped into the top 7 on the Spotify charts in her Astrid’s native country Norway, while achieving substantial viral chart positions in other territories including the US, UK, Canada and the Nordics.

“Hyde” represents the first new music from Astrid S since her debut hit single “2AM” and her appearance on Avicii’s July 2015 “Waiting For Love” remix EP. After releasing “2AM”, Astrid has reached double platinum status in Norway, has had more than 20 million worldwide streams on Spotify, sold out her first Norwegian club tour and has been officially remixed by hot producer Matoma, amongst others. This fall she won her first MTV EMA award as Best Norwegian Act.
