Gyptian and Lady Leshurr

Gyptian, who hit international stardom with his RIAA certified Gold hit “Hold You” (produced by Ricky Blaze and later remixed by Nicki Minaj) in 2010, is back with a single just as contagious. The Jamaican reggae singer’s song “All On Me” (June 9, VP) continues to climb U.S. radio charts on Top 40, Urban and Rhythmic radio, and now has Lady Leshurr, “Britain’s hottest female rapper” hailed by Vogue, gets on the wicked new remix produced by the Dutch born record producer Diztortion (known for his hits with UK artists like Stylo G, Lethal Bizzle and Tinie Tempah). The new remix, available Nov 6, 2015 for digital sale on VP Records, collides UK grime, hip hop, EDM and reggae into a worldly sound.

England’s leading lady is the perfect match to team up with the reggae star. Born to St. Kitts parents and influenced by reggae’s sound, the grime artist Lady Leshurr brings her own unique Caribbean-tinged flavor to the track to match Gyptian’s pitch-perfect island vibes. Whether her music is heard on Samsung Galaxy’s brand new commercial, booming out of the speakers during Alexander Wang’s Spring 2016 New York Fashion Week runway show or hitting Spotify’s Top 10 Most Viral Tracks, Lady Leshurr’s music is spreading like wildfire. Together, Gyptian and Lady Leshurr backed with Diztortion made beats, deliver an explosive mix of pure fyah!

Melissa Manchester

“You Gotta Love the Life,” the title song from Melissa Manchester’s new album, was Most Added in its first week at Smooth Jazz radio, BDS reports. The propulsive, horn-fueled track celebrates the life that Manchester embarked on some 40 years ago, when she got her start as a founding member of Bette Midler’s Harlettes. The young singer was also studying songwriting with Paul Simon and envisioning a solo career. While “You Gotta Love the Life” is Manchester’s most autobiographical song to date, it’s also an anthem for anyone with the hunger to perform and the tenacity to weather the extreme ups and downs that are par for the course in show business. “You Gotta Love the Life” can be purchased HERE and streamed HERE. Manchester just finished shooting the official video for the track; details to follow.

With her new album, Manchester celebrates not only more than 40 years as a GRAMMY-winning performer and songwriter, but a renewed independence and vitality – qualities that also shine in her live show. Reviewing one of her March 2015 performances at Feinstein’s 54 Below, The New York Times’ Stephen Holden said, “she effused the high spirits of someone who had shed a heavy weight and was still dizzy with her freedom and sense of possibility.” Manchester will return to 54 Below this fall for another multi-night run. The New York City native, who now resides in California, was blown away by the warm welcome she received from fans during her first engagement at the club and, in appreciation, is offering a special 15 percent discount for the November 5-7 dates. Tickets are available HERE. On December 16, she will perform at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, CA. See below for her full itinerary.

You Gotta Love the Life, which is available HERE, is Manchester’s first studio album in a decade and her first-ever independent release. Billboard observed “magic moments on the album include guest appearances by Al Jarreau on ‘Big Light’ and Keb’ Mo’, who plays guitar on ‘Feelin` For You.’ ‘Other End of the Phone,’ which features Dionne Warwick, is the final lyric the late Hal David ever wrote and features one of the last recorded performances by keyboardist Joe Sample.” M Music & Musicians praised her “smoky vocals” and Goldmine noted, “[Manchester] has never sounded more vibrant or enthused.” “It’s a beautiful collection showcasing her musical diversity, distinctive songwriting and stunning voice,” said Rage Monthly. “Don’t cry out loud for Melissa Manchester. The music industry changed, but the Grammy-winning ’70s and ’80s pop star has changed with it,” observed the Miami Herald while hailed it as “one of the finest albums of her illustrious career.”

Jimmy Kimmel Live

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live will be returning to the host’s hometown of Brooklyn, New York for five original shows which will tape live from the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House starting on Monday, October 19th.On Tuesday night, October 20th , Jimmy Kimmel Live will broadcast songs live from TIDAL X: 1020Amplified by HTC at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Combining live instruments with a backbone of electronic wandering, Brighton based five-piece Calico bring elements of jazz, electronica, folk, rock and classical, all filtered through the brain of an insane robotic overlord to their unique and invigorating soundscapes. Band members Chris Martyr (keyboards and samples), Dan Nixon (guitar), Lewis Husband (trumpet), Vlad Matveikov (bass) and Graham Burgess (drums) draw on their eclectic musical backgrounds to produce a unified ensemble of euphonic melodies, sophisticated rhythms and uplifting crescendos.

Calico have honed their craft live supporting the highly acclaimed Hidden Orchestra, as well as fellow Brighton acts Written In Waters, The Physics House Band, Ojo de Gringa and Luo. Original founding members Chris Martyr and Dan Nixon’s continued collaboration is said to be built on Star Wars and South Park quotes, whilst the return of former drummer, Graham, brought a science brain (and some mean drum chops) to the band, having serendipitously returned to England from a year of studying astrophysics abroad when the band were about to get the debut EP together.

The self-titled debut EP is an exceptional piece of work from the alluringly unwinding opening track ‘Euphorism’, the off kilter tropical expressiveness of ‘Fold A Winning Hand’, the engrossing electronic soundscapes of ‘Rogue’ and finally a satisfying second version of ‘Euphorism’ featuring Beth Cannon with a sweet vocal to bring everything full circle like a reflection back of itself, somehow evolved. It is set to be released digitally, on CD and Vinyl on Brighton’s independent label Small Pond Recordings on October 19th and the band have an upcoming UK tour in September and EU tour in October with label mates Luo and The Alarmist respectively.

Swedish old-school death metal tyrants, DEMONICAL, have released a brand new video to the track “To Become the Weapon”, taken from their new EP, “Black Flesh Redemption”, out now on Agonia Records. Produced and mastered by vocalist Sverker Widgren, the four-track new EP was recorded in two studios: Amplified (drums) and Wing (rest of the instruments) between January and February, 2015. The cover artwork was created by Kontamination Design. “Basically, the new material continues where Darkness Unbound (last album) left us – explains bassist, Martin. However, with a slightly new course to explore when it comes to the musical and visual formula of the band. But all you loyal followers – old and new – rest assure, we are still talking about the finest form of pitch black old-school Stockholm-style death metal that will hit you viciously and victoriously bringing you one step closer to a cleansing redemption”.

The EP is available in:
– digipack MCD;
– 12″ black MLP (limited to 700 copies);
– 12″ silver MLP (limited to 200 hand-numbered copies);
– 12″ gold MLP (limited to 100 hand-numbered copies);
– digital formats
– limited hooded sweatshirt with zipper (new item)
