Brandon Adamson

Filmed mostly in the historic Melrose district of Phoenix, Arizona, the video features model/actress Sydney Stringfellow. Brandon has been recording and releasing experimental indie music in various forms since the mid 1990s.

Blackjazz trail-blazers SHINING have revealed a brand new concept-based video for “The Last Stand,” a track from International Blackjazz Society, of which Pitchfork enthused, “…even as the band relaxes into new atmospheres there’s an extreme, ascetic discipline on display. The architecture of their music is modernist…”The video depicts a fight to the finish, giving us a rare glimpse into the mythology and values of the International Blackjazz Society.

“To celebrate the release of SHINING’s new album International Blackjazz Society, we are very happy to give a bit of an insight into the proud roots of the elusive organization that our new album is named after,” says Jørgen Munkeby, SHINING mastermind and Blackjazz instigator.

The new record coming to global digital platforms today after a three-year recording hiatus, showcases a unique hybrid fusion of Latin, Caribbean, and American rhythms meshed with the beloved sounds of Locos Por Juana’s heritage and upbringing and their distinctive Miami sound.

Starlight Girls

Starlight Girls share “Fancy” video

Fantasm will be released January 15, 2016

There’s something about Halloween season that fits this six-piece Bushwick band’s siren allure and gothic-tinged theatricality. Their poetic lyrics are inspiring, channeled by a unique energy-driven mix of surf, pop, and noise with a bit of metal for good measure. SPIN has described Starlight Girls’ genre-bending sound as “undeniably luminous.”

Founder and lead singer Christina B played keyboards and sang as part of her family’s mega-church in Ohio before she escaped to Brooklyn disguised as an airline stewardess at the behest of guitarist Shaw Walters, a California transplant who had recently arrived in New York with a suitcase full of Bay Area weirdo noise rock sensibility. Sara Mundy signed on to sing and play keyboards and Tysen Arveson became the band’s resident bass player and tattoo artist. With the group taking shape, they later added vagabonds Josh Davis on drums and Isabel Alvarez on keyboards and backup vocals to fill out the sound.
