Music journalists get hit with a steady helping of press releases every day. For the music fan without that kind of sensory overload, a lot of music news can pass by without being seen. Every Friday, we will weed through and compile a list of some of the most intriguing press releases to come across our virtual desk.

Metallica will release their eleventh studio album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct, on November 18th, via Blackened Recordings. The 2 CD / 2 Vinyl set is the Grammy® Award winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s first studio album since 2008’s multi-platinum Death Magnetic. Hardwired…To Self-Destruct is available for pre-order at starting today in various configurations including: CD, Vinyl, Digital, Deluxe, and Deluxe Deluxe Versions. The albumis produced by Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed Death Magnetic.

“Has it really been eight years? Doesn’t feel like it! Nudge, nudge, wink, wink,” said Metallica’s Lars Ulrich. “We’re obviously beyond psyched to share new tunes with all our friends out there. We’ve been rockin’ along in the studio with Greg on and off for the last 18 months firing up the creative engines again. Putting new music out there, getting in your faces once again and all that comes with it is what we love to do more than anything else, so strap yourselves in … INCOMING!”

“Hardwired,” the first track to be released from the forthcoming album was played for the first time earlier today during a live remote broadcast from Metallica’s HQ in the Bay Area. During an interview with Minneapolis rock station 93X discussing the band’s performance at U.S. Bank Stadium on August 20th, Lars Ulrich stunned 93X’s Pablo by unleashing the incendiary song for the first time, much to the surprise (and delight) of the station, as well as fans around the world. “Hardwired” will be delivered as an instant download to fans who pre-order the album.

Stay tuned for more details on Hardwired…To Self-Destruct in the coming weeks.

Run The Jewels

Indie hip hop phenoms Run the Jewels have just offered up a preview of “Panther Like a Panther,” a new song from their highly-anticipated third studio album, Run the Jewels 3. The track is exclusively featured in the Horde 3.0 debut trailer in support of the upcoming Gears of War 4, which launches on Xbox One and Windows 10 platforms Oct. 11. The game’s trailer makes its debut on the group’s website:

“Run the Jewels was on heavy rotation when we started laying the groundwork for the next era of Gears back in 2014, and has been there ever since.” said Rod Fergusson, Studio Head at The Coalition. “The fact that two career artists came together as a group to create something so special – a rarity in modern hip-hop – are things that Gears fans will immediately recognize and appreciate. We’re proud to have Run the Jewels as a part of the Gears of War family.”

Later this year, Killer Mike and El-P will forever become part of the Gears family by appearing as multiplayer characters in the game. The duo will bring their brutal intensity and ‘can’t nobody save us but us’ attitude to “Gears of War 4” multiplayer.

Fans in the Seattle area can meet Killer Mike and El-P from Run the Jewels and Gears of War co-creator Rod Fergusson and score some exclusive collaboration giveaways at BAIT at 915 E Pike St, Seattle, WA from 2-3pm on Saturday, September 3rd, or catch Run the Jewels in concert during their mainstage performance at the Bumbershoot Music and Arts festival at 7:20pm in downtown Seattle.

Borgore and G-Eazy

The contagious Borgore & G-Eazy track “Forbes” is back and this time with a little help from a few friends.

Whether your taste includes unsympathetic, face-melting baselines to euphonious melodies – this remix pack has a style for you. Available for free download, vibe with Getter, HPNTK, SAYMYNAME, Sullivan King, Wildfellaz & ASUHRUH as they make it to Forbes.

Francie Moon

One of the best kept secrets in New Jersey, garage-rocker and singer-songwriter Francie Moon is exactly what you might think of when you hear “free spirit.” Always traveling in her well-worn van, Moon has gigged in every nook and cranny, bar and coffee shop in the continental U.S.

With a prolific amount of releases to her credit since adopting the moniker in 2013, Francie Moon (real name Melissa Lucciola) is now gearing up to drop her most fully realized songs to date. The three-track Francie Moon EP is out September 23rd, 2016 via self-release.

Each of the three tracks on the EP were recorded live on a tape machine before Moon moved for a spell down to Georgia, which lends the overall sound a feel you might hear on a Third Man Records release. Before she returned to the NJ area in early 2016, engineers Richie Semartin and Jon Irizarry worked up the tracks with Moon deciding to record more guitar and solos, backing vocals and little extra bits and pieces. The EP, which teases a larger collection of songs to be released next year, features Semartin (drums) and Adam Pumilia (bass).

Moon’s gritty, garage-blues sound is a direct reflection of her life. In her own words, “I set up my life around music to make it work, no matter what. I handpainted 500 covers of my vinyl EP and made and cut every cover. I made hundreds of shirts and sold them on tour and I sold at least a couple thousand CD’s by hand to each person who bought one and gave away hundreds more.

I sold my handmade earrings on my merch table. I sold a DVD player one time on my merch table. I bought a van a week before a tour so we’d have something to drive. I’ve come home with $500 and I’ve come home with $50.

I’ve walked 2 miles to a show with all my equipment from a train station in San Diego and another time in Boston, ride shared a 15-hour overnight drive from Hollywood to Denver, CO and crossed the desert 5 times in a month just to make it to some shows.”

As always, Moon will be picking up plenty of shows as she continues her travels. Be on the lookout for more, including several single drops, in advance of the release of Francie Moon’s self-titled EP on September 23rd, 2016.

Hailing from New Orleans and lead by Ryan Gray, Luxley arrives with the fresh single, “Tremors,” exclusively premiering on Impose Magazine.

With a sound that is self-described as wildfire dance rock, Luxley combines anthemic dance elements with pop-aesthetics, all tied together with a southern soul. Taking cues from acts like Tanlines, Brothertiger and Beat Connection, Luxley has been featured twice on Spotify’s New Music & Weekend Buzz playlists and charted 5 days on the Spotify US Top 50 Viral chart. Gearing up to drop a new EP this Spring which features official remixes from acts like X-Ambassadors and Magic Man, the Luxley’s funky take on alternative-pop is set to top your playlists. It’s the totally perfect soundtrack for warmer days that lead into never-ending nights.

France isn’t known for its rock music. Enter M.Soul the bilingual singer-songwriter who is bringing good old American rock ’n’ roll to an eager European audience. Currently settled in Strasbourg, France, M.Soul (Marcel Soulodre) has played music all over North America and during his three-decade career he has created a sound that is truly unique but widely recognizable.

M.Soul was born on September 1, 1960, in Saint-Boniface, Canada — the historic French district of the Prairies. He is the seventh of eight children born to a French fiddle-playing father and an English-American expatriate mother. Music was a constant during M.Soul’s childhood and at age six he started tickling the keys of his grandmother’s piano. He was a teenager when he bought his first guitar and growing up in the 60s meant M.Soul was inspired by musical legends like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

A near-fatal car crash at the age of 21 left M.Soul confined to a hospital bed, which stimulated his desire to play music seriously and learn his fathers’ native tongue. His first group, The Ministers of Soul, became popular in Winnipeg clubs and when they disbanded two-years later M.Soul was bit by the travel bug. He fell into a job as a carny and made his way to Louisiana where he met Cajun fiddler Hadley J. Castille, who would become a longtime friend and collaborator.

M.Soul is a celebrated Canadian artist. In 1997, M.Soul performed his song Giddy Up on national television during the Canada Summer Games and in 1999, he sang at the opening ceremonies of the Pan Am Games. In 2000, his album Que Je Recommence won a Western Canadian Music Award for outstanding francophone album. In 2003, M.Soul was inspired to celebrate the life and songs of Johnny Cash with a tribute show he called Wanted Man. That same year, the Man in Black passed away and M.Soul went on to play more than 300 Wanted Man shows for adoring North American audiences.

He has taken the tribute show across the pond to the delight of European Cash fans. M.Soul was nominated by the Country Music Association of France for Male Vocalist of the year and for Album of the Year for Don’t Take Your Guns to Town in 2015. His most recent recording ‘This Time The Girl’s In Trouble’ consists of 11 tracks of originals written by himself.

The Georgia Flood

Atlanta-based band, The Georgia Flood, will release the first of three monthly singles, “Better Not Together,” September 2nd as a lead-up to their debut national release, People Like Ourselves, which comes out in December.

Recorded at Black Cat Studios in Griffin, GA, with producer Jason Hoard, “Better Not Together” has already found fans in the band’s hometown where the song has been featured heavily on 99X Radio’s “Something Local” rotation and on Radio 105.7’s “Locals Only” show. In addition, The Georgia Flood have been playing the song live in concert the past few months while opening for national touring artists including Robert Randolph and The Family Band, Sister Hazel and Radio Birds, with whom the band just wrapped an August tour. The September 2nd release will be the first time that the song will be commercially available.

The Georgia Flood consists of two brothers, Brooks Mason and Lane Kelly. Barely into their 20’s the brothers have been playing music since they were pre-teens. The full People Like Ourselves EP consists of genre-bending alt-rock tunes that take influences from Kings of Leon to The Black Keys to John Mayer.

American Anymen

American Anymen present their new video for ‘Beach and the Sun’, the second single from their new album “Start My Center”, on the trail of their first single ‘Selectively Stupid’. This is the band’s 11th album, produced by Jen Turner (Natalie Merchant, Here We Go Magic), also known for her involvement in recording Swans’ latest album ‘The Glowing Man’.

American Anymen is an Antifolk band, created by Brett Sullivan in 1999 in NYC’s Lower East Side. With an unconventional approach to guitar, their sound is an eclectic mix of folk punk with indie rock and old school hip-hop.

With singer/songwriter and guitarist Brett Sullivan as its core, American Anymen’s current lineup also includes Tracy Brooks (Herman Dune, Team B/ Bright Moments) on drums, and Harlem-based 20-year-old Nova Luz (The Amputees) on bass. All members share vocal duties. Past members include James Levy, Aaron Wilkinson, and LISE.

Unique to American Anymen is the band’s strong politics and ethical importance placed on the creative process over lavish equipment. “How you create is as important as what you create,” says Brett Sullivan. The new video emphasizes the downside of globalization, while the previous video for ‘Selectively Stupid’ focuses on controversial accompanying video underlines the sad state of police brutality and social injustice encountered these days.

“There is some sense of unity in contradictions. There can be no good without bad, there can be no up without down, or rich without poor. This song is about how easily it is to live in the U.S. and pretend you not a part of the world’s problems,” explains frontman Brett Sullivan. “Most people think if U love your family, generally respect nature and have a positive outlook on life, you are not part of the the crisis that humanity is facing. There are problems though, and the U.S. is leading the nations of the world in a compititoin to destroy the planet, to lock out the hungry fleeing from war, and econonically dominate all.”

Having shared the stage with the likes of Paleface, The Moldy Peaches, and Jeffrey Lewis, some highlights of American Anymen’s shows include (le) Poisson Rouge, Palisades, Hammerstein Ballroom, and Helsinki’s National Theatre.

Bloodhounds On My Trail

Bloodhound On My Trail have been at the forefront of a simmering shoegaze scene that has re-emerged in Melbourne and Australia over the past few years. Following up on their 2015 debut EP “Escape II”, they are pleased to announce their forthcoming single ‘Over The Wall’.

Bloodhounds are Johnny Green (guitar, vocals), Chris Donaldson (guitar), Nik Donaldson (drums) and Ché Walden (bass).

Their understanding and appreciation for the forefathers of shoegaze and noise rock has resulted in a solid following among those into blissing out to densely-drenched and atmospheric guitar tones. Recollecting Ride, The Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine and Chapterhouse with Velvet Underground underpinnings, Bloodhounds love to play loud enough to make your face tingle.

Since releasing their ‘Escape II’ EP via Moon Sounds (USA) and Raphalite Records (UK) in late 2015, the four-piece have received a string of praise from around the world and gone on to play live with virtually every key shoegaze band in Australia.

“I was hearing songs that contained a lot of imagery in them, which were telling stories in the way that is often done in folk music, and that inspired me to write this particular track,” says Bloodhounds frontman Johnny Green.

“Over The Wall is basically about a prisoner and him wanting to escape, whether he be dead or alive. In the song, he toys with trying his luck in the conventional break-out manner or hoping and even planning how he can die while still inside the walls of his jail. Regardless of the outcome, he will no longer be in prison and will consider it a successful escape,” explains Bloodhounds guitarist Chris Donaldson.

Slated for release on September 16, Bloodhounds On My Trail will once again be releasing ‘Over The Wall’ and their forthcoming EP through Moon Sounds Records, one of America’s most dynamic shoegaze labels and home to such bands as Dead Leaf Echo, Ceremony, The Foreign Resort, Ummagma, The Vandelles, Sounds of Sputnik, Static Daydream, A*Star, Porcupine, and Follow The Sea.

The Raveonettes

The Raveonettes share their new track ‘A GOOD FIGHT’. The song is the band’s 8th offering from their RAVE-SOUND-OF-THE-MONTH playlist where the duo will continue to upload a freshly recorded track on the last Friday of every month until December.

The Raveonettes are breaking with the norm and creating what they’re labelling an ‘anti-album’. A collection of songs that aren’t bound by the constraints of the format. A 12-month expedition, potentially schizophrenic and disjointed, potentially cohesive and related. It will then be released as a whole album.

August’s edition; ‘A Good Fight’ sees the duo revel in a blissful dark fuzz, toying with a range of tempos & electronic beats.

Elina Garanča

In Revive, her latest album for Deutsche Grammophon, Latvian mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča explores the storms raging in the lives of some of the strong women of opera. A world-class performer approaching the peak of her form, she channels her experience and insight into a collection of arias drawn from the great Romantic repertoire, complete with captivating rarities and genuine showstoppers. Revive, released 04 November via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, charts the impassioned responses of characters blown off course or thrown into emotional turmoil by events beyond their control.

Bookended by arias from Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana and Saint-Saëns’s Henri VIII, the album also takes in music from Leoncavallo’s La Bohème and Massenet’s Hérodiade, as well as celebrated set-pieces from Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur, Saint-Saëns’s Samson et Dalila, Massenet’s Werther, Berlioz’s Les Troyens and Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, among others.

This breadth of repertoire bears witness to Elīna Garanča’s vocal versatility and range. Her programme choices amount to a projection of her personal passions and interests at the time of creating the recording. “I feel confident that at this moment I can approach the women in the opera literature who are strong, whom I understand, with whom I can share my own life experience,” she comments. “This has been the guideline in everything I do: I go onstage when I am confident that I understand why I’m going to present a character. I hope that everyone listening to this recording can find something particular: it’s enough if they can relate to only one aria.”

Revive casts light on powerful women to reveal their vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Garanča’s strikingly individual interpretations arise from her empathy for each character and are underpinned by her admiration for their desire always to stand tall, even in moments of despair or apparent defeat.

“All these women are, I think, about exploring an inner world, about people finding themselves in a weak moment, for whatever reason – unhappy love, betrayal, losing power, saying goodbye to loved ones. In my everyday life, I’m everything: I can be jealous, I can be angry, I can be funny, I can be sad. Life is like a big colourful book. So the women on this album belong to a big colourful book.”

Revive was made in company with Roberto Abbado and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana. Elīna Garanča welcomed a fresh opportunity to work with Abbado, and was delighted by the absolute focus shown by the orchestra throughout the sessions. The recording process allowed the singer to dig deep into dramatic roles destined to become part of her future work in the opera house, notably Mascagni’s Santuzza and Verdi’s Princess Eboli, two powerful roles she is preparing to perform for the first time onstage, at the Paris Opéra (in the autumn of 2016 and 2017, respectively).

“I’m lucky enough to have a mezzo-soprano voice that has the potential for development,” she comments. “I started with Baroque, Mozart and bel canto repertoire, with a little bit more dramatic stuff, too. I have never done Verdi on the stage or really done verismo opera, so there’s something new for me. Now, I feel it is really time to explore further, so the repertoire that is coming now is a new Elīna with new, exciting challenges.” Verdi and verismo, she adds, offer fresh territory for rewarding exploration. “I’m very happy that I can embrace it. It feels right at this moment to move on and reach other mountains!”

After the unmeasured success of her 2015 debut EP When The World Ends, AYLA returns today with a new offering in ‘Like the Other Kids’ and a subsequent launch tour.

Premiered last night on triple j’s Goodnights, the song’s chugging, layered production is anchored by a pounding drum motif that takes it from stunning to anthemic, a catalyst for misty eyes and gentle steps forward despite its “dark imagery”. Then there’s that voice. The smooth, effortless gliding heights. The insouciant depths. Given a delicate yet self-determined vehicle through the considered nature of AYLA’s songwriting prowess, ‘Like the Other Kids’ represents the dawning of a new age. You’d never guess it was conceived of while AYLA was washing dishes at her parents’ house, testing out her rap flow.

with Italy’s Ego Records (Emma Louise, The Jezabels) and an awestruck slew of online outlets, has reached unshakeable heights. Her single ‘Wish I Was’ claims the accolade of being the #15 most played song on triple j in the year of its release, and snagged international remixes from Spada and Zwette. AYLA has toured her own show across the country and supported heavyweights such as Kate Miller-Heidke (national tour), Husky and Asta. At Woodford Folk Festival, The Big Pineapple Festival,BIGSOUND 2015 and soon Caloundra Music Festival, her irresistable live show has stood out as a glittering jewel amongst the fray.

AYLA is not up-and-coming anymore, she’s here. And with a headline ‘Like the Other Kids’ single launch tour and new EP on its way, she’s only getting started.

Eastern Bloc

Hot on the heels of a massive formative year, New Zealand’s bass duo Eastern Bloc are ready to take on the world with a new treat in Double A, the culmination of two spectacular singles; ‘Astro Boy’ and ‘Knine’ featuring Montell2099 and Kamandi respectively.

One of New Zealand’s most sought after electronic acts, the duo have supported the likes of Flosstradamus, Flume, Alison Wonderland, Danny Brown and Baauer. Their first big international milestone however came off the back of their Jersey club flip of Rocafella Records artist and Kanye West collaborator Vic Mensa’s ‘Down On My Luck’ which not only earned them an 8/10 review in UK’s coveted MIXMAG Magazine, but also praise online from Mensa himself which led to a meeting in Auckland when he was touring.

After initiation into the Red Bull Sound Select platform the duo released their debut Flamingo EP, which caught the eye of Skrillex’s NEST HQ platform who premiered the release in November. Flamingo received viral status, reaching number one dance and number three overall album spots on the New Zealand iTunes charts and was the number one album streamed on apple music.

From their time in the Red Bull Studios in Auckland, Eastern Bloc has a monstrous new offering; two singles packaged as Double A, both of which collaborate with a different Redbull Sound Select artist; ‘Astro Boy’ ft. Montell2099 and ‘Knine’ ft. Kamandi. Each track is an instant club classic that carries forward the same unique sound from last year’s Flamingo EP, marking a huge step up in Eastern Bloc’s evolution into true global players of the bass music scene.

Double A is available now via Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and Juno Download

Ezi Emela

Manchester born Ezi Emela has a diverse network of influence. Born to Nigerian parents, the British songstress has kept a tight grasp on her African heritage and takes the shining elements of UK culture to create her brand new single ‘No Lele’.

The record is doused in sensuality with a lick of fierce determination as the velvet tones of Ezi Emele entwine their way across the Omeiza beat. The afrotrap-leaning record makes a bold statement about Ezi Emela and her persistence in the face of any doubters.

Accompanied by an equally mesmerizing video that sees the former Chanel model take on many different guises, the color and dancing cascade across the screen in an amalgamation of fashion, UK street and African culture.

Having previously released a variation of music that has seen Ezi Emela sway between styles and vibes, including a clearer British R&B sound on Voicemail through to her collaborations with some of the biggest African music legends such as PSquare, 2Face, Idibia and Chocolate City, it is No Lele that takes elements of all to make this her biggest records to date.

Red Moon Road

The path towards the new Red Moon Road album, ‘Sorrows and Glories’, began with a shattered leg, a cancelled tour and a long 2000 km trip home. Luckily, the Winnipeg folk trio is known for surviving adversity, spinning stories into songs and, more often, breaking hearts with stunning musicianship.

Red Moon Road, formed in 2012 by Daniel Jordan, Sheena Rattai and Daniel Peloquin-Hopfner, are now fully healed and returned from a year of extensive and adventure filled touring across 7 countries in Europe and North America. ‘Sorrows and Glories’ their third album has already received major plays and several weeks at number one on the Earshot! National Folk/Roots/Blues Charts in Canada.

‘Sorrows and Glories’ was recorded by producer/engineer/Juno recipient, David Travers-Smith (Wailin’ Jennys, Ruth Moody) and award winning producer/player Murray Pulver (Doc Walker, Steve Bell) and delivers the band’s finest songwriting to date. Spanning a wide range of genres, from a Beatles-esque pop song, Words of the Walls, which muses the storied past of an iconic apartment block, to Beauty in These Broken Bones, a full-on spiritual backed by a star-studded choir, the three collaborative yet distinct writers frame immaculately crafted songs with original and innovative instrumental work. With tastes of Albertan country, Parisian aires, banjo driven anthems and the tradition folk storytelling in a Canadiana style, the music carries the stories as compellingly as the lyrics.

Live, Red Moon Road makes a much bigger sound than one would expect from a trio. In an impressive well-choreographed show, bordering on spectacle, the trio incorporates impeccable three-part harmonies, a roots drum kit split entertainingly but pragmatically between two band members and an acoustic guitar rigged to also be a bass. A moustached man plays mandolin, lap steel, banjo and organ, and subtle technological wizardry whirls as the unmistakable soulful voice of one of Canada’s premiere songstresses floats above it all. Honed in house concerts and main stage festival appearances alike, Red Moon Road is a tapestry of song, masterful storytelling and spontaneous repartee woven seamlessly into something truly exceptional.

Old Man Kelly

The sound of Old Man Kelly comes broadly from the early days of American roots music: when bluesmen sang from front porches on hot afternoons; when swing bands played dances in speakeasies late into the night; when being an American troubadour was a trade. Since the 2013 release of Songs, Stories, Shanties and Shenanigans, Old Man Kelly has gigged relentlessly, bringing his vintage sound to over 300 swing dances, festivals and honky-tonks throughout the central Appalachian mountains.

The 2016 release of Off My Lawn is the recorded product of a band sharpened by the time spent in those trenches – Old Man Kelly and the Streetsweepers. Featuring Matt Labarge on honky-tonk piano, Chris Printz on upright bass, and Nathan Bowles on drums, songs like “Exitville”, “My Next Ex-Girlfriend”, “Milk Cow Blues” and “Knock Her Up” are tailor-made for rockabilly swing dancing in late-night establishments. “The Murder of Mir Imad” and “Cool Rag” add Willis Greenstreet on clarinet, seasoning the gumbo with a Dixieland vibe. Old Man Kelly gives respect to his roots in old-time Appalachian music on the traditional ballad “Wild Bill Jones” and on the original clawhammer banjo composition “Louisiana Dirt”, featuring the incomparable flatfoot dancing of Jen Barton. Off My Lawn is Americana in the best sense of the word: the work of a band who has done their homework, knows their music history, and uses that as a lantern to guide us to new places.

Brazenly original and yet familiar-sounding, Off My Lawn brings the sweat of the dance hall to your living room. Move the furniture, roll up the rug, and play it loud.

Forward-thinking, unorthodox New Zealand death metal trio ULCERATE return with their latest masterwork Shrines Of Paralysis, a flawless continuation of the band’s signature sonic philosophy. Shrines Of Paralysis spans eight tracks of singular death metal, incorporating a wider range of styles and ideas than ever before. Influences both within and beyond metal abound: organic, inventive phrasings and novel compositional techniques round out a thundering package of death, doom, and black metal stylings. As is characteristic of the band, Shrines Of Paralysis is about much more than just the music. The production, themes, and atmosphere all shape ULCERATE’s music, and help guide the way through a highly evocative palette of dark and light passages, subtly dramatic rhythmic manipulation, and unparalleled technical heaviness. The band’s most cohesive and powerful release to date.

Shrines Of Paralysis is due out October 28, 2016 on CD/2xLP/Digital via Relapse Records. Physical packages and digital pre-orders are available via

Amber Ojeda

A “lesson in contradictions,” Ojeda’s upcoming third studio album Geminis & Virgins, set to be released this summer, chronicles Amber’s journey of embracing her sexuality, conceding to her fears of commitment, and standing up for herself in adverse situations. “I’ve learned where this is conflict,” she says, “there is also an opportunity for growth and empathy.” The new album is centered around her current relationship, tightroping the line between softening into and fighting through her fear of forever.

Created over the span of two years, Geminis & Virgins is a fiercely personal and raw musical effort with long time collaborator and friend David Michael Ott (Jussie Smollett, Verdine White, Tribe Called Quest) with songs that are both honest and catchy. “I sought David for this project because when we create together, it’s seamless. We have an innate sense of knowing what the other is thinking. He pushes me to be uncomfortable and vulnerable.” Grammy Award winner Neal H. Pogue (Outkast, Nicki Minaj, Aloe Blacc) provided additional mixing on the new album.

Jacob Moore

Like a pleasant gust of wind on a hot day, Jacob Moore is drifting into the limelight with ‘From Above’, a pretty taste of his forthcoming EP All In Time.

Taking time to finely hone his craft; Jacob has merely tested the waters when it comes to his musical endeavours. Fusing 50s barbershop nostalgia and modern soul is not an easy feat, but this is the sonic identity that best describes Jacobs’ previous soft releases ‘Infinity’ and ‘Something in the Water’. Recently Jacob has been hard at work, recruiting a slew of musicians to form his live band, which will be revealed in the coming months, as well as putting the finishing touches on his debut EP at Studios 301 with Jack Prest (Flume, The Preatures, Action Bronson).

All in Time is slated for release on September 9th, but for now audiences will have to suffice with immersing themselves in the tranquillity of ‘From Above’.

20 year old Andres Alcover AKA Echo Child has announced the release of his new single the infectious psych inspired pop groove ‘Way To The Sun’ which is to be release through independent singles label SW Records on the 22nd August.

‘Way To The Sun’ is a direct reflection of Andreas Balearic roots pushed through the prism of modern London life drawing influence as much from the sunny climes as the concrete streets. Echo Child is Andreas first project since his last exploration into music with his previous band, which saw him, grace the pages of NME, Fader and play stages with pop stars such as Jack Savoretti. This however is a real statement of intent and a positive start to the impending dominance of his unique sound.
