Back in the day, when this place was crawling with forums and chats about random acts of music, we used to poll ourselves to see which release by an artist not only set them atop of the industry but stapled them in as musical gods. This week we take on the psychedelic sensation:  The Mars Volta
TMV have certainly written their fair share of records and I have to admit, as much of a fan as I am, I still find it difficult to pick a favorite.  Through the years they’ve been constantly evolving their sound into something that just becomes more and more.  Perhaps though, you find more merit in albums of their yesteryear? Help us determine which is their absolute best of the best before their new album on the horizon blows all of our minds and makes it even more difficult to decide!

I found this one split between Deloused and Bedlam. Ultimately I chose Deloused. First impressions last a long time.

I can see Frances being on top just due to the fact that it’s possibly (aside from Deloused) the most widely recognized TMV record.

I ended up choosing Amputechture though for the simple fact that it contains a few of my absolute favorite TMV tracks (“Tetragrammaton” “Viscera Eyes” “Day of the Baphomets”
