Well, well… its finally here. To alot of fans of Pop and Indie, one of the most anticipated releases of the year is the new Kings Of Leon album “Come Around Sundown”. Due to hit virtual and actual shelves next month, the radio attack begins next Monday…So what will be the song we may or not get tired of?

“Radioactive”

Not completely digging it…perhaps I’ll warm up to it, but off the surface, I certainly hope the rest of the new record more impressive

“So what will be the song we may or not get tired of?”

This is the statement that really defines how I feel about these guys. I remember discovering them when they were more or less under the radar, and loved them. Then all of sudden they’re all over tv, radio, and media and it just killed it for me. It’s not so much an elitist thing, it’s just that getting blasted with “Sex On Fire” from every direction kind of puts me off.

I feel ya, I think most of us around Music Emissions -thanks to D- had enjoyed them for a while prior to Only By..Night. Though, I’m not sure ANYONE can deny that record, overplayed or not is absolutely the vortex of their career. Its their Led Zeppelin 4, Dark Side Of The Moon, All Eyez On Me, its the coming out of all coming out parties, regardless of how long they KOL drudged along. Even more regardless, they seem to become more “diva”, just recently having left stage “after being crapped on by birds”?. Just not sure what to think, but I did pre-order. The work on their last earned the hype, despite their stardom.

Just noticed they pulled that video above. Try this link: http://www.youtube.com/v/wPBbMbKSZrQ

Damn, it’s a great track too! This is one Top 40 band that I may never tire of. I really like pretty much everything they’ve done. Great drum beat and cool guitar riffs keep this song going strong. Good work boys!

This band and Led Zeppelin IV shouldn’t ever be mentioned in the same sentence or paragraph. I think the birds did the crowd at that show a favor by getting them off the stage so the headlining band could play. Stay thirsty my friends!

Who the hell would stand around and let birds crap on em? I wouldn’t either!

Ben, Not saying they should’ve let birds crap on them. The question mark aluded to not having seen actual evidence of these infamous birds. Even still, can someone at the venue not take care of the issue and get these guys back on stage?

Gutter: And again, apparently misunderstood, the comparison to LZ4 was in reference to the impact on both the music industry and more importantly to the longevity and credibility of the artists’ career.

hstigod, I see what you’re doing, but I don’t care if this was the number 1 selling album on the planet. Stating that a band made a good record is one thing. But you’re comparing apples and year old blackend fermented bananas. A. this band has very little talent, in fact they’re downright U2 ripoffs, so if anything was going to be compared to this album I’d compare it to perhaps, or say it’s likin parks meterora…nah thats going to far. I wouldn’t compare this album to anything unless I was talking about a band that had no credibility and as far as longevity goes, I don’t think they’ll be around any longer than lionel Richie’s song “hello”.
Seriously dude, what you said up there makes no sense.
The birds shouldn’t have been an issue, that tells me that kings of leons are a bunch of little pussies who are in it for the money and willing to screw over paying fans just because their clothes that they can reafford to buy are going to get shit on. This shows that they can’t think on their feet (a simple joke about how loyal they are to their fans and letting the birds shit on them i.e “See Washinton, we love you so much we’re gonna let the birds shit on us”…or “we’re gonna play so loud those birds that are shitting on us are going to start falling out of trees, toss them up to us so we can bite off their head”…A band should NEVER leave the show. no excuses. It’s not the venues fault, it’s KOL for booking the show and setting their stage up under a bunch of birds, like they had no say so where their stage was going to be. RIIIIIIIIIIIGHT…I’ll believe that when this band grows a pair of balls and stops ripping off fans who pay their money to go see them, only to walk off the stage becauase a piece of birdshit hit their raggedy ass clothing they could throw into the crowd.
Did you see ANY of the bands in woodstock 94 running from the mud? no. NIN played, Metallica Played…
Leaving the stage for any reason is grounds that a band doesn’t have what it takes to make it and make their fans happy. I think it’s BS that anyone would buy a record about that, and then turn around and say it was “their Led Zeppelin IV”.
“It was their best album yet”…but not Zeppelin IV…nobody can do Zeppelin IV.

PS. Candlebox played for 3 hours and could hardly stand up he was so sick, and that was an amazing show. The guy had pharingitis. Real Bands don’t cancel shows unless there is an emergency…and birds are not an emergency

You’ve got a valid point, which I believe I already shared. Birds defocating on them was not nearly an emerging issue enough to kill the rest of the show. As for your summation of KOL’s talent level? There’s no accounting for taste, I feel the same way about those four puss’s from San Francisco that washed out so long ago. All that you said is mere opinion, but the fact that you would put any Stinkin Park at a higher plateau than anything KOL wrote over their mostly independently earned 11 year career, well that just goes to show you’ve had a pop spoon in your mouth for a very long time. You’re welcome to stay at this site, but please use it’s resources to enhance your tastes and arguments beyond a VH1 Behind The Music compilation.

Gutterseed – I love your bitterness! I haven’t had that much entertainment on this site since Sean Collins was around here. Keep it up!

BTW – Loving this song. I’ve always loved Kings of Leon. But you are still entertaining with your passion about the other side.
