History

Music Emissions started out as a college project for a student that was taking "Multimedia on the Internet". This was before the proliferation of MP3s and digital music. The site was created to present one person's critical thinking on independent music.

Over the years Music Emissions has grown to include reviewers and critics from all over the world. It has also now houses a music community of over 5000 users who are avid indie music fans.

We are now one of the premier places music fans discover new music.

Purpose

The site has three main purposes, firstly to give independent artists exposure, secondly to give a foundation for journalism students to practice the art of critique, and finally to give indie music junkies great recommendations on new and upcoming music..

Not only does the site serve as an independent voice for under appreciated music but it is also a launch pad for journalism students. Many have come and gone over the years.

We now allow artists to create their own profile pages to give community members exposure to their music.
