I will always be found sitting back and listening meticulously to demo recordings and hear how nicely this band has developed from the start. I love how Ursa's influences tie in so nicely to their style and how the transitions from influence to influence compliment each other.

A main example of these transitions would be the song "Welcome to Level III" where you can hear many different aspects of a good metal song. You have catchy riffs, heavy breakdowns that will make kids go wild at live shows, and the catchy vocal harmonies that truly separate Ursa from other bands of similar style.

Ursa has set goals to successfully mix spine chilling screamo hardcore with melodic choruses that encompass what music should truly sound like to the trained or untrained ear. Ursa wants to get these catchy choruses stuck in your head so deeply that you can be found humming them on a Monday morning within the confines of your work cubicle. If they do that, they have been successful.

As a musician, a listener, and a friend, I recommend that you check out these demo tracks from Ursa. If you like any metal, hardcore, screamo, or anything to do with those genres, check Ursa out, and be sure to vote for them as indie music artist of the year!

However, if it takes being in a band to get away from that dull, boring, cultureless, no-life, red neck, good ol' boy, if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it town of Bowling Green, where the majority of its clueless inhabitants are afraid to cross the state line and still think the world is flat.......then good luck to them!

Anthony's vocals are different from CD's past and I can't really get over his new happy, lighter tone. His lyrics are still well written and meaningful, but I really miss his against in previous works.

But I have given Shudder its chance to grow on me, and it has to an extent, but I can never cherish it like "Sirens and Condolences" or their self-titled album because of its lack of raw emotion.

But with that said, It is still a quality album that was put together well.
