With all this news of Sick Kids (SiKi) nearing completion I've been listening to Friends and Nervous Breakdowns a lot recently. It so incredible how an album put out in 2005 (comprised of songs written and recorded between 2000 and 2004) can be so honest and beautiful and innovative... and still ring true after 3 years. Everything from the record industry to being in a band to being completely misunderstood should not be taken lightly. Obviously you hear a white boy from upstate NY who is a "progressive rock" drummer (I wouldn't consider Coheed and Cambria Progressive Rock. They have the elements, yeah, but they're not truly and wholy prog rock. Neo-Prog maybe, along with the likes of Muse and 3... but that's not straight up prog) and expect that he can't rap... but it's more than that. Josh Eppard is intelligent, witty and an incredible musician.

supposedly ya'll are keepin' it real, but mostly ya just provoke and poke at me and hopefully you remember you're jokes to me

This is hip-hop for the love not a 1 on the charts

Goofy A&R tell me the elements are missin'; Chippin' in his two cents, listen, nothin' is smitten. Fittin' on leavin' more brisk than Lipton. Nipped in the bud, how come your bomb record was a dud?

My life is just so ordinary, I'm a ordinary joe. On the contrary this a new all-time low. This is a new all-time low.

P.S. I hate this WYSIWYG editor.  My html is perfect!  It's such a waste of time to sit here and reformat and reformat and reformat.

Dont feel bad... most indie hip hop fans are just as modest about their interest because Rap dilludes the whole issues and makes you feel plastic.  anyways... theres no two ways about it, any Pharreal has touched was gold... Cage is a sik f*ck live...If you're looking for the best record to start on Atmosphere, look to Lucy Ford

I'm going to look into that Atmosphere record.  I didn't realize they put something new out this year.  I haven't dedicated enough time to listening to an Atmosphere album.  I'm not going to front, I really don't know that much about indie hip-hop.  I've heard stuff from Cage, Sage Francis, Aesop Rock, El-P, Immortal Technique, Lupe Fiasco, Jedi Mind Tricks, k-Os, Black Star, The Streets, Quasimoto, and Talib Kweli...  but not nearly enough to feel justified in sharing my thoughts on the artists as a whole.  I'm definitely a huge N.E.R.D., The Neptunes and Pharrell Williams fan.  (Almost) anything he [Pharrell] touches just screams sex and feels so powerful to me.

Funny, I was just finishing up my review on Atmosphere's "When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Sh*t Gold" and saying it was basically a training course for indie hip hop. I gotta say, Im not a huge fan, but you ppl got me curious about Eppards new one.

I did the HTML edit thing, but for some reason it still condensed my line breaks.  Please don't take any offense Dennis, this site is still awesome and incredibly well-run!  And I'm sure the wysiwyg is wonderful for the majority :)

Over on the right hand side you'll see a HTML button. Click that and you can edit your post with raw HTML. Hope that helps. I wish everyone was HTML savvy then we wouldn't require these Wysiwyg editors. We are in the minority Neesh.
