May 29th is my second most anticipated date, right after May 1st because May 1st is Fall of Troy--but May 29th is Circa Survive. Now honestly, I have no idea what to expect from Circa Survive. The Fall of Troy is predictable--post-hardcore, razorlike, messy guitars, powerful drumming, collected bass lines, and the trials and tribulations of Thomas on vocals as screams his heart and serenades us like nails on a chalkboard. Circa Survive is different, extremely different and all I can admit, I do declare that under my obvious excitement is some concern.
The album's title is On Letting Go. After Juturna, I think Circa Survive left themselves halfway up a staircase but they have a bad knee and they got tired so they stopped. Their full potential just wasn't reached. Do I think they can reach it? Yes. Do I think they will? No, Anthony Green comes off as too much of a freethinking, undedicated kind of person who always gets sidetracked and involved into many things than he can handle.
Hence my lack of faith. But fingers and toes crossed.
Comments:
I think that Circa Survive does show a lot of promise. I will be checking out their new one as well. Juturna had me wishing they made it all the way up the staircase.

I'm definitely interested in what Circa has to offer on this next one as well...I think its gonna be more slick and tamed to be honest....very much looking forward to it either way. Let me know how the TFOT thing goes
