As some of you may have seen from a forum post I am indeed sporting a new 8GB iPhone. And it's fantastic! I thought I would run through some of the cooler apps and webapps (web apps meaning ones that you have to be connected via Wi-Fi or Edge network, apps meaning native on the iPhone).

Seeing today is Earth Day I thought I would post my efforts to make this world a greener one. Here are some of the things my family and I have done today (and during every day) to try and help out.
- Super short, luke warm shower not letting the water run for more than 5 minutes
- Hang dry our cloth diapers
- Use our home made environmentally friendly washing detergent in cold wash
- Kept the heat down this morning and threw on a hoodie instead (it's fr

As my previous post stated, I was off to see Fall of Troy, Protest The Hero, and Chiodos at the University here in Calgary last night. It was a good show but I did have a couple complaints. First off, I was a little disappointed I missed half of Fall of Troy's set. What I saw was quite impressive and in hindsight, it may have been good that I only caught 4 songs. Protest the Hero was amazing BUT their "Orville Shreddenbacher" skills tend to wear after about 4-5 songs. All the songs

While not really being a hardcore fan of any of these bands I am entirely excited about seeing them all live. I've been listening to them all finding newfound things with each band, really finding that Protest The Hero is amazing and Fall Of Troy not far behind. Should be a loud show too. I never really got into Doppleganger but it is a good album (see my review). My main exposure has been the impressive Manipulator album. I still have to track down Protest The Hero's last album. Again, I've

Thought it was time for another one of my random playlist (call out to Honey Dont. I miss your random playlists. You gave me the idea to do this on a weekly basis.) Anyway, this is a nice indication of my eclectic iTunes music catalog on my laptop. Metal, pop, punk, electronic, and everything in between. Enjoy!
- Tonight I Have To Leave It - Shout Out Louds (Our Ill Wills)
- Don't Tell A Soul - Katatonia (Last Fair Deal Gone Down)
- Journey to the End of the East

I was sitting here booking my summer vacation hoping and praying that we'll see a lot of Sunshine. I threw the bright word into my search box in iTunes and lo-and-behold a wonderful little playlist. A wonderful little list of music to push me forward in the tedious chore of booking accommodations and ferries. Enjoy!
- Good Day Sunshine - The Beatles (Revolver)
- Sunshine Highway - Dropkick Murphys (The Warrior's Code)
- Land Of Sunshine - Faith N

Michael Schmitt's podcast drove me to a new favorite band right now, The Soldier Thread. Listening to Fevers and Fireworks drove me to buy the EP on iTunes instantly. I haven't been compelled to do that for a long time.
Anyway, in order to listen to it I put in "Soldier" into iTunes search box and it brought back quite a nice playlist. Nice enou

Tags: Polyphonic Spree, Crooked Fingers, Beatles, Afghan Whigs, Jimmy Eat World, random playlists
This one is probably my most cohesive random playlist yet. I love it because I was just talking about Crooked Fingers, I just did a podcast on the Gutter Twins (with a track from Afghan Whigs), Nicholas was just talking about George Harrison, I was looking for someone that had actually heard the new Jimmy Eat World. It's like iTunes gets in your head when you do a random playlist:
- Section 18 (Everything Starts At The Seam) - The Polyphonic Spree (Together We're Heavy)
