London Astoria being demolished

I am actually quite saddened about this. I saw quite a few great shows at the Astoria during the 6 months I lived in London in 1996. One of my favorites was Teenage Fanclub. They had such a great presence and the acoustics of the venue were amazing. Raise a glass this weekend in salute to one of the best live music venues in the world. It is stated that the building will be demolished this weekend. There was a great show last night including Mystery Jets, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, The Automatic, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Drew McConnell's side-project Helsinki, VV Brown and Frank Turner. Another one tonight in the smaller affiliate club Astoria II.
