Now that it is finally warming up in the Midwest (although 40's again this week, whats up with that?) its time for some summery melodies and warm tunes...or whatever. So here's a handful of bands that have been prancing through my ears as I enjoy the sunshine.
Fireflies--A lone artist from Chicago named Lisle Mitnik who cranks out some blissful tunes that are really both haunting and uplifting at the same time. "Les Belles Etoiles" is a perfect song to calm your senses after a long day, especially with a nice warm breeze blowing in your face. He's currently working on his first full-length.

The Little Ones--A pop-indie group out of LA, they play some warm melodies with some bouncey guitar-riffs. They've been in the news a bit lately after released their new single "Oh MJ!" which is worth a listen. Nothing to go cray about, but more pleasant tunes that your ears will lick up like ice cream.

The Go Find--Like a happier, more digestable Radiohead (or very much like previously mentioned 120 Days), The Go Find hail from Belgium and combine some mild electronic influences into otherwise pretty straight-forward indie-pop rock. The electronic effect, especially on the vocals, adds a fascinating edge to their songs. "25 Days" and "Summer Quest" in particular are damn catchy, and good places to start with The Go Find.

Sambassadeur--Another foreign band, this time from Sweden, Sambassadeur play in the fashion of Peter, Bjorn, and John, or even Camera Obscura. Bascially, sunny melodies in a vintage style with flowery female vocals. With only 95 MySpace friends, this is as indie as you get...if that's a deciding factor in bands you like. Bottom-line, they've got some great melodies (check out the little guitar solo in "Between the Lines") and like all these bands provide a perfect backing soundtrack to your spring and summer adventures.

The first suggestion The Fire Flies was alright...a lil too down for my current mood, but still just as talented as they need to be...
Bro... The Little Ones were kick ass, and if there not in the databae or on the ME friendlist, they will be after this post!!!! Cha Cha Cha just has that vibe or Radiohead without the downers....Christ this is impressive stuff. I can definitely see how warmth and sunshine ride free with this....
The Go Find was too technoey for my taste, but the similiarity with The Streets lyricism was fairly enjoyable.
Yoiu have a particular taste bro...interestingly enough, I'd usually break someone down with a bit of opinion music terrorism. I'm thinking you have everything in a very particular genre spread out nicely like a terrific hand of five card draw. Sambassduer was very cool as well...For those who are into The Shins, search the database for these guys soon, as ANY OF THE LAST FOUR that were mentioned will be added as immediately as possible.
Glad the weather is picking up for you Schmitty...I'm right there with you...We both have what they call "SAD". Something about being less upbeat in the fall and winter months du to the decrease in sunlight. Some crapped out Yahoo article Im read, either way,. thanks for the suggestions. Good Stuff!
