I know all Tom Waits fans will have this album by the time they read this but for all of you scared of Tom this might be an easy way to get in. This album has the best of his later stuff mixed with early material. Lots of guests including Marc Ribot, Charlie Musselwhite, Les Claypool, and John Hammond. He is still convinced that anything that you can bang can be used for a percussion instrument. Slow shuffles (Hold On) mixed with clanging lurchers (Big in Japan). I really love the track where he rambles on about "What is he doing in there". It's creepy and fun at the same time. This comes off as one of his finest. Welcome back to the indi leagues Tom and showing everyone how to do it.
